Laurent Koscielny gave a hugely unconvincing answer when asked if all of Arsenal’s problems are Arsene Wenger’s fault (via The BBC).
Things are in a bad way for Arsenal right now both for the players and for the manager.
The 2-1 defeat to Brighton means the Gunners have lost four in a row for the first time in over 15 years.
Arsene Wenger is baring much of the criticism for this string of disastrous results but it’s fair to say that the players haven’t been performing to the best of their abilities either.
Laurent Koscielny is one of those players and now, the stand-in captain has been asked if this run of form is solely Arsene Wenger’s fault.
“As players, we have responsibility on the pitch and need to be together. It is difficult to say it’s his fault or our fault,” Koscielny said.
“The boss is here to give his best for the club. He’s been here for 20 years so he’s always loved this club.
“We need to stay united; it’s a bad period but we need everyone who likes this club – players, fans and staff – to be together and to fight to be as high as we can.”
It was far from the most convincing response from Laurent Koscielny. The defender didn’t exactly give Arsene Wenger his full backing which is perhaps telling of the current situation in the dressing room.
