Thibaut Courtois’ future at Chelsea remains up in the air with a number of clubs vying for his signature, but the Belgian stopper has reportedly urged the Blues to sign Roma star Alisson as his replacement.
That’s according to El Gol Digital, as cited by the Birmingham Mail, who believe that Courtois is eager to complete a move back to La Liga with Real Madrid in the summer.
Real have identified Courtois as one of their top targets in the summer and hope to prey on his contract situation at Chelsea. Free to leave at the end of next season, Chelsea must weigh-up whether to cash-in on Courtois this summer if he refuses to sign a new contract to risk losing him for nothing at the end of the next campaign.
It’s also being reported that Courtois has held informal talks with PSG regarding a move to Ligue 1 as he looks to join a club who are a perennial Champions League contender.
If he leaves, then Chelsea will need to replace him and Courtois himself has touted Roma’s Alisson to be his successor at Stamford Bridge if reports are to be believed.
The Brazilian has impressed this season in Serie A and is believed to be a top target for Liverpool as they themselves consider a major shakeup in the goalkeeping department.
