Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is keen to reach a conclusion over his future at the club before the World Cup starts.
The Belgian international is likely to be the man who Roberto Martinez calls upon for the role between the sticks in Russia this summer, but Courtois is focused on resolving the uncertainty surrounding his contractual situation at Stamford Bridge.
Courtois is understood to be open to signing a new deal at Chelsea but only if the club meet his personal terms. The likes of Real Madrid have been linked with a move for the shot stopper also, which is sure to come as a concern for the Blues.
Despite some patchy form of late, Courtois is a crucial player for Chelsea and the club will be desperate to retain his services for years to come.
As quoted by the Evening Standard, the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper discussed his desire to have his future resolved before the tournament in June gets underway.
If I go to the World Cup with a clear idea, sign or wait another year, then I have a clear head at the tournament. I am still proud to play at Chelsea and I want to achieve success. I have one year [left on my] contract and feel good at Chelsea, at the end of the season we will sit down together and set out a vision.
Courtois did, however, allay fears over his long-term future in West London, insisting that he will stay at Chelsea for next season at least.
I know that I will be at Chelsea next year as well.
