Chelsea have been dealt another injury blow, with David Luiz set to miss a prolonged period of action, as per a report from the Daily Mail.
The experienced defender has been forced to take a back seat this season as a result of the emergence of Andreas Christensen. However, he will not be available until next month by the looks of things, as he continues to be hindered by a knee injury.
Luiz, 30, has struggled to impact proceedings for Chelsea this season and has been severely restricted by injuries to both his knee and his ankle. Despite seeing specialists recently, he is no closer to making a full recovery.
It’s claimed by the Daily Mail that he will be unavailable until next month and is on course to miss Chelsea’s crunch clash with Tottenham Hotspur at the start of April.
This comes as crushing news for Luiz, also, with the 2018 World Cup only around the corner. He’ll be desperate to be a part of Tite’s Brazil squad for the tournament in Russia, but will be in need of consistent game time prior to the competition.
