Arsene Wenger’s wait for a League Cup title will have to continue after his Arsenal side were demolished 3-0 by a rampant Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s men were handed the trophy on a plate after an error-prone Gunners team failed to live up to the mark.

City took the lead just shy of the twenty-minute mark after Sergio Aguero managed to lose his marker, Shkodran Mustafi, from one of Claudio Bravo’s goal kicks.

Things went from bad to worse for Arsenal in the second-half after some simple tweaks to the City setup allowed them to put the match out of reach.

Vincent Kompany and David Silva eased their way through some lacklustre defending to make it 3-0 in the second-half as the Gunners slumped to their third defeat in the League Cup final in the last 11 years.
