Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has lifted the lid on his recent feud with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, Goal reports.
The Blues boss has been involved in a war of words with his Portuguese counterpart since last season, with the Italian most recently referring to Mourinho as a “little man”.
Red Devils boss Mourinho vowed that he would not forget the “serious” words Conte had said about him following a drawn-out battle of sly comments.
However, speaking ahead of his side’s trip to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, Conte addressed the media. He was inevitably quizzed on his relationship with Mourinho and insisted that the past is behind them.
In the past we have both said things. For me it is okay. I am not interested to speak about this topic.
Conte proceeded to hail United and their qualities, acknowledging that the game against the Red Devils would be a difficult one for his side.
United is always dangerous because the squad is very strong. This team is also very physical. When you play against United you have to know anything can happen and there is risk to lose the game. It is a massive game for us.
Chelsea have struggled to develop consistency throughout the course of the season and a number of curious results have led to scrutiny being placed on Conte and his future at Stamford Bridge.
The ex-Juventus boss will hope to silence his critics with a big win at United on Sunday, though.
