Marcos Alonso has been excluded from Chelsea’s squad to face West Brom this evening as a result of an ankle injury.
It’s reported by Evening Standard reporter Vaishali Bhardwaj that the Spaniard sustained the knock during training and has been unable to recover in time for the visit of the Baggies.

Chelsea are well stocked with wing-back options and will hope that Davide Zappacosta can deputise in Alonso’s absence.
Former Fiorentina man Alonso has been in good form for the Blues this season and is a crucial part of how Antonio Conte sets his side out. Not only is he an important player defensively, but he is also hugely influential going forward, meaning he is likely to be a big loss.
Chelsea will now hope that Alonso can recover in time for their FA Cup fifth round tie against Hull City on Friday.
