Chelsea recorded a much-needed 3-0 victory over West Brom as an Eden Hazard brace, sandwiched in between a rare Victor Moses goal, earned all three points for the Blues.
Having seen both Tottenham and Liverpool win at the weekend, the pressure was on Chelsea to pull off a result and move back into fourth place, but the opening 20 minutes showed no signs of improvement from the games aganst Watford or Bournemouth – with lazy passes and a lack of intensity allowing West Brom to fire crosses into the area at will, one of the Baggies few strengths going forward.
Hazard, seemingly a man on a mission, settled nerves whe he collected Olivier Giroud’s lay-off and curled in a shot that dipped right into the corner of Ben Foster’s net.
The game stagnated for a while as Chelsea, who were now dominating possession, struggled to find any rhythm in the final third, but after 63 minutes, Moses all but secured the three points as he started and finished a move that saw him place a deflected ball under Foster’s reach.
Hazard then did what he had already done at the Hawthorns this season as he scored his second goal of the game, this time cutting in from the edge of the box and with little back lift, firing in an early shot that was reminiscent of a goal he scored against Everton last season.
