Chelsea have offered a mammoth contract to Eden Hazard to ward off interest from Real Madrid, according to reports.
With Gareth Bale seemingly set to depart from the European champions in the summer, Madrid are looking to splash the cash on at least one forward player as they look to close the gap on Barcelona after a poor league season, by their standards.
Speculation about Hazard’s future has been rife for a while but Chelsea hope that by offering the Belgian a contract reportedly worth around £15m-a-year (£288k-a-week), that he’ll stay at Stamford Bridge for the long term.
In what has been a pretty mixed season for Chelsea, Hazard has once agains been on of the club’s standout players and everyone at the Blues will be desperate for him to stay.
Real Madrid are also said to be keeping tabs on Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Chelsea fans will be hoping it is one of those players who moves to the Bernabeu, and not Hazard.
