Chelsea and Crystal Palace have reportedly clashed over how they want Ruben Loftus-Cheek to recover from his ankle injury.
According to the Times, as reported by the Daily Star, Palace want the player to undergo surgery to speed up his recovery, however, Chelsea want the injury to heal naturally, without any surgical procedures.
Loftus-Cheek has since returned to Chelsea to undergo his rehabilitation from the injury, having not featured since the club’s 3-2 defeat at home to Arsenal.
The midfielder is said to be growing increasingly frustrated with his condition and believes the chances of him making Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad are diminishing.
Loftus-Cheek had impressed during the first half of the season for Palace, so much so Southgate handed him his first England appearance in a friendly against Germany.
Reports have suggested the player had an outside chance of making the squad this summer, but the ankle injury appears to have scuppered his chances.
