Watford winger Richarlison has earned many plaudits for his exploits in the Premier League this season. In fact, he’s played so well that he’s already being linked with moves to the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.
Speaking to Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard, the 20-year-old refused to move out a summer transfer but insisted that he is fully focused on his role at the Hornets.
When asked about a possible move to Stamford Bridge, he said:
In the future you never know but I leave all things like that up to my agents. At the moment my head is completely in Watford. I am not thinking about anything else and I want to help the team get as far as possible in the League. That is my objective, that is my focus and nothing else.
The Brazilian is currently less than a year into a five-year-deal at Watford, so Chelsea might have to splash the cash if they do want to sign him. What is clear is that the Blues would be able to give him a significant wage increase as his deal with Watford pays him £20,000-a-week.
Whilst he wasn’t really willing to talk about specific clubs, Richarlison did say that he hopes to stay in the Premier League for a number of years.
I want to play in this country for as long as possible. It is a great League and has been a great experience for me. I want to improve and playing in England can help me do that.
