No meaningful developments are expected to occur today regarding the swap deal involving Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaran, according to the BBC.
Arsene Wenger claimed on Thursday morning that the deal was likely to be completed within 24 hours, allowing Sanchez and Mkhitaryan to be registered in time for clashes with Burnley and Crystal Palace respectively.
But while Sanchez has already agreed a four year contract at Old Trafford, negotiations with the Armenian’s agent Mino Raiola are ongoing.
And the BBC’s David Ornstein has confirmed that no progress has been made in negotiations for Mkhitaryan, adding that the deal could still go ‘either way’.
No developments expected today on Sanchez/Mkhitaryan. Still work to do as currently Mkhitaryan deal hasn't moved on & could yet go either way. Arsenal hopeful on that + Aubameyang. Talks continue. Malcom off – meetings held but eventually deemed too inexperienced #AFC #MUFC #BVB

It felt this time yesterday that the whole thing was about to be wrapped up, with Gianluca di Marzio even claiming that a deal would be done in a “matter of hours”. But then, almost abruptly, the news quietened down throughout the day, with Jesse Lingard‘s prank turning out be the high point.
Not to worry, though. Surely Friday morning, ahead of Jose Mourinho’s presser and the noon deadline, would be the time. I was ready, up at 6am, bandana wrapped around my head, shouting at the mirror and punching glass as I geed myself up for a huge day of content.
But it was not to be. Unfortunately negations take time, and there are obviously still a few details to iron out between Raiola and Arsenal. According to the Evening Standard‘s James Olley, the deal is expected to go through within the next 36 hours but talks are still being held over Mkhitaryan’s wages – even though Wenger said they wouldn’t be a problem – and Arsenal’s demand that a fee be included in the deal.
