Chelsea have made contact with Leicester City over a deal to sign striker Islam Slimani on loan.
The Sunday Times reports that Slimani is the latest name to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
Antonio Conte has made a striker his top priority this month as he looks to provide more competition for the out-of-form Alvaro Morata.
Leicester are reportedly open to selling the player this month but are not keen to see the player leave on loan.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Roma striker Edin Dzeko, with reports in Italy claiming the Blues are closing in on a deal to sign the player.
Slimani would be available in the Champions League for Chelsea, unlike Dzeko, who would be cup-tied.
Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch have also been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this month, with Conte looking for a target man to boost Chelsea’s options in the final third.
