Jesse Lingard claimed his eighth goal in ten games to send Manchester United through to the FA Cup fourth round against Derby County.
Jose Mourinho’s men struggled to break the Championship side down, with Marcus Rashford striking the post twice and Paul Pogba missing an open goal.
Just when it seemed like a replay would be needed, Lingard popped up to launch a ripsnorter into the top corner with six minutes left.
There is no question whatsoever that the 25-year-old is in the form of his life at Old Trafford in this moment in time.
Jesse Lingard has now scored or assisted 10 goals in his last 11 games in all competitions for Man Utd. Red hot form . http://pic.twitter.com/KclczX52lB

The 25-year-old doesn’t just score important goals when Man United need them; he usually scores beauties. Absolute belters. Swansea City, Watford, Burnley twice, Everton, Burnley twice, and now this – probably the best of the lot.
You need presence of mind, timing, awareness and execution to pull off a finish like that, as well as a stroke of luck.
But what you need above all is confidence. A genuine belief in oneself. And Lingard has exactly that coursing through his veins. He goes out on the pitch with a desire to entertain and impose himself in a way that many United players haven’t in recent weeks.
