Chelsea’s latest number nine Alvaro Morata has revealed how he is using former Blue Didier Drogba as inspiration.
As reported by the London Evening Standard, Morata revealed how he is re-watching old DVDs of the Ivorian in an attempt to improve himself as a striker.
Upon joining the club, Morata asked for a copy of a DVD with all of the Drogba’s goals on it.
I put it on at home so I improve with Didier.
Drogba is fourth in the club’s all-time top goalscorers list and was widely considered as one of the best strikers in Europe during his prime years.
Throughout two spells at Stamford Bridge Drogba netted 164 times for the Blues, playing a key role in the club’s evolution over the past decade.
Morata himself has enjoyed a fine start to life in London after joining the club from Real Madrid over the summer.
The Spaniard has become a favourite among supporters and scored nine league goals already this season.
