Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has finally addressed criticism of his ‘arrogance’ and gives the perfect response to the claims.
The Swedish hero has had a tough second season at United so far, struggling with his injury and match sharpness.
Having initially returned ahead of schedule, he then seemingly aggravated the condition and has now been ruled out for a month.
Ibrahimovic featured for the Red Devils a handful of times this season but it was clear for all to see that he was thrust back into the side too quickly.
Either way, this only gave the powerful striker more time to respond to ridiculous claims of his character, which he did so delightfully.
According to Give Me Sport, Zlatan said: “That doesn’t matter. I’m the best there is. Either you are proud or you are not.”
After a decent first season at Old Trafford, he was initially let go by the club when his contract expired.
Perhaps Jose Mourinho’s thoughts were to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the transfer market and after failing to do so, re-signed him for a free once more.
The alternative is that the Portuguese manager was maybe waiting to see how the Swedish international would recover from his injury and only after Mourinho received positive feedback, signed him again.
Whatever happened is anyone’s guess but Romelu Lukaku’s dire form for Manchester United in recent matches could do with his lack of rest.
The Belgian striker was supposed to be given some time off once Ibrahimovic got the hang of things again but unfortunately that option has gone out the window.
Worse for United fans is that Lukaku picked up an injury of his own in the dull draw vs Southampton at Old Trafford.
