Manchester United fans spared no player after the team’s performance vs Southampton and Marcus Rashford was not given any exception.
The academy youth product came off the bench for an injured Romelu Lukaku very early on in the first half but failed to make a significant impact the more the match went on.
Playing as a striker, Rashford had every opportunity to prove his worth to Jose Mourinho and solidify his spot in the starting XI as the club’s frontman.
Instead, he failed to provide any real threat and let down his teammates just as much as his teammates let him down.
Whilst some fans reactions to Marcus’ performance was over the top, most of them were simply disappointed by the young Englishman.
This was a game where Rashford could’ve shown why he should play CF, Mkhitaryan could’ve given himself a chance of staying at United & Shaw could’ve made Jose think twice about buying a LB – unfortunately none of them did

Mhikhitaryan, Rashford and Luke Shaw flopped today big time.

A few months ago I considered Rashford up there with Mbappe. Good god! Look at him now! Like a lot of this team, suffering from the negative culture Mourinho is instilling at United. It doesn't look good.

Rashford's decision making is so poor, I fear we may have another Walcott in the making.

Welbeck and Rashford are so simillar its annoying. They have incredible burst of pace but lack a football brain when it matters. Running around is their specialty before losing the ball afterwards and missing sitters.

Rashford is still young but he has many flaws tbh.. Needs to fix up his:

Marcus Rashford‘s recent problems may just come down to pure fatigue as he’s played a huge chunk of matches this season.
In fact, according to Sky Sports, he’s made 61 appearances in 2017 for the Red Devils, more than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues.
Mourinho clearly favours the youngster and rates him highly but perhaps the manager is to blame a little for his poor form.
Younger players tend to burnout quicker than more experienced pros as they learn their trade and adjust to the intensities of the modern game.
Jose though doesn’t seem too keen on resting him however and seems to rely on him for injecting his side with youthful hunger.
Perhaps the Portuguese manager feels that he doesn’t have real talent out wide and is forced to play Rashford consistently.
