Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been reflecting on his time at Stamford Bridge after he was officially unveiled at the Wanda Metropolitano.
AS report that the striker has been working hard to get in shape for his return to Madrid.
Speaking after he was unveiled as an Atletico Madrid player, Costa spoke very highly of his time in London.
I didn’t learn English, which is a bit of a shame. I was really happy there, the people were great, the fans, my team mates were all great… They helped me a lot, and made my life much easier. Chelsea is a great club. I have a real fondness for them and all of the memories I have of my time there are good ones.
Atletico Madrid fans poured into their new stadium to see Costa and fellow new signing Vitolo unveiled. Costa will wear the number 18 shirt in his second spell at the club.
Costa had been long linked with a return to Atletico throughout the summer but the club’s transfer ban had complicated the deal.
While it was never in doubt that the Spanish international would return to the capital, the deal was prolonged and drawn out over the course of the summer months.
