Chelsea join Arsenal and Liverpool in the race for French star

Both Arsenal and Liverpool tried to sign Monaco’s Thomas Lemar in the summer and according to a report from French newspaper L’Equipe, report both clubs will try to persuade the reigning French champions to sell him in January.

However, Chelsea are also said to be interested in signing the French international as Antonio Conte looks to improve his squad when the transfer window opens.

According to L’Equipe, Chelsea have already made contact with Monaco to enquire about Lemar’s ability and after the French side were knocked out of Europe, there is a chance that they could decide that the time is right to cash in on him.

It was believed that Lemar’s preference was to join Liverpool last summer ahead of Arsenal, but if Chelsea join the race, he could fancy a move to the Blues, especially if they are willing to improve the salary he’s been offered by the Merseyside club.
