Links between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur full-back Danny Rose continue to develop, with the Manchester Evening News claiming the Reds have been given a boost in their pursuit of the England defender.
Rose was excluded from Spurs’ matchday squad for a second consecutive game, having reportedly been “fuming” after being left out of Mauricio Pochettino’s side for the North London derby.
The two recent omissions of Rose from Tottenham’s squad has encouraged Man United ahead of the January transfer window opening in just over a month’s time, say the MEN.
Rose was born in the north of England, in Doncaster, and has been linked fairly regularly to United, having never hidden his desire to return to the north. The MEN say United are “continuing to monitor developments.
Jose Mourinho is in search of a permanent full-back, still not trusting Rose’s England teammate Luke Shaw. The young left-back joined for just under £30m from Southampton three seasons ago, becoming the world’s most expensive teenager at the time.
But he has never been first choice for Mourinho, and has been frequently criticised by his United boss. He’s now been linked with a January loan move to Newcastle United having played just twice this season, both times as a substitute in the EFL Cup.
