Manchester United are reportedly plotting an audacious move to sign David Luiz from Chelsea.
The Express report that Jose Mourinho could look to take advantage of the Brazilian’s unhappiness at Chelsea after he was dropped from the side that beat United prior to the international break.
Luiz is said to have fallen out with Antonio Conte, despite the Chelsea head coach stating that the defender was dropped for tactical reasons.
Mourinho is said to be keeping a close eye on the player’s situation and a move for the Brazilian could happen in the near future.
The report states Mourinho could look to pounce in January but it is unlikely Chelsea would sanction such a deal during the middle of the season.
Mourinho and Luiz themselves fell out during the Brazilian’s final months at Chelsea during his first stint at Stamford Bridge.
It was Mourinho who sanctioned the deal to sell the defender to Paris Saint-Germain for £40 million.
