Manchester United once again flexed their attacking muscle during the 4-2 defeat to Watford but there was one man who missed out on the part.
Romelu Lukaku provided some important touches in the first half, linking up well with Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial as Man United ripped through the hosts, but his shooting boots were once again nowhere to be seen.
He was presented with a golden chance in the second period – basically an open goal – but his lack of awareness and scuffed effort revealed why he only has one goal in 11 games in a red shirt.
With that in mind, here is a potential XI for the clash with Arsenal excluding Lukaku, who would clearly benefit from some time on the sidelines to reboot.
Mourinho’s decision to match Watford’s back three paid off and he will likely do the same against Arsene Wenger’s side.
He will, once again, allow Arsenal to have the ball, commit men forward, before using Juan Mata‘s crafty positioning and superb vision to unleash Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial further up the pitch.
United were, above anything, extremely clinical at Vicarage Road, and supporters will want to see Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial – who have 15 goals and 11 assists between them so far this season – test Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi with their raw pace on the break once again on Saturday.
