Manchester United legend Gary Neville has had his say on who he would hire between Ajax’s Erik ten Hag and PSG’s Mauricio Pochettino.

It’s understood the two talented managers are the main contenders for the job at Old Trafford, as speculation continues to grow.

Personally i would go for Pochettino but Ten Hag is the massive favourite of United fans to take the club forward. That’s if it is a clear choice between the 2.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s departure saw an inability to hire a permanent manager and so a short-term solution was sought.

At the time, Ten-Hag was understood to be unwilling to leave his club mid-season, whereas PSG played hardball on Pochettino.

Among the temporary options, Ralf Rangnick stood out and was subsequently hired as interim manager, as well as being handed an advisory role for two further years.

With the season ending in roughly two months time, United have stepped up their efforts to sign a new permanent manager.

Pochettino and Ten Hag seem to be the most logical options and the situations for both have changed drastically.

With the Red Devils seemingly capable of hiring either manager, fans have appeared to lean towards the latter more.

Supporters feel Pochettino’s failures with PSG has become a stain on his career and so have felt less reassured than they would have in the past.

It looks as though Neville is more confident in the Argentine, perhaps because his quality and his flaws are known whereas Ten Hag has an air of mystery around him.

The former right-back also held a poll on his account for fans to vote and the Dutchman won overwhelmingly.

Man United risk losing key player as PL clubs register interest: report

Paul Pogba is reportedly attracting interest from two unnamed Premier League club amid interest from European giants.

The Frenchman has a contract that runs out at the end of the season and with a couple of months left, more interest is starting to ignite.

Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are the top clubs interested in signing the midfielder with contact still ongoing between the agents and clubs.

Pogba is set to leave Man United for a second time on a free transfer, much like he did back in 2012 when he left for Juventus.

The Peoples Person recently reported that the 29-year-old could stay in England but move to another Premier League team next season.

According to Sky Sports News, no official offer has been made to secure the midfielder on a free transfer but two Premier League clubs have also been in touch with Pogba’s camp.

The 29-year-old is yet to reveal his stance on remaining at Old Trafford beyond this season.

However, no official contract talks have happened since last summer.

It is said that the choice of United’s next permanent manager will have a huge impact on Pogba’s future.

The Frenchman recently opened up in an interview about some rough times throughout his second spell in Manchester.

Pogba discussed going through depression, particularly during Jose Mourinho‘s time in charge.

United could change transfer plans to sign world class attacker - report

Manchester United could move for Juventus playmaker Paulo Dybala this summer.

The Argentine is expected to leave the Old Lady after a breakdown in contract talks with the club.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Dybala’s agent will now talk to clubs regarding a potential transfer.

The transfer guru tweeted:

He added that the 28 year old’s contract expires in June, and that he will leave for free.

Inter are said to be one of the clubs extremely interested in the player, along with Atletico Madrid.

Calciomercato mention potential suitors in Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

United were previously linked with the Argentine back in 2019. At the time, the club were desperate to fill the void of a ‘number 10’.

With the signings of Bruno Fernandes, Donny Van de Beek and Jadon Sancho, United don’t need reinforcements in that area of the pitch.

The club must focus on more important issues, like the midfield.

However, Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that United will be looking to bring in a top-class striker.

While he might not be the quintessential number nine that many are hoping for, Dybala would offer a different option as a striker.

He could play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in a two-man strike partnership, or by himself as a false nine.

With no transfer fee required, United could be tempted to take a punt on the 28 year old this summer.

Unhappy Man United star attracts interest from PL club - Romano

Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

According to renowned transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Magpies have shortlisted Henderson as one of their three goalkeeping targets this summer.

Henderson has only played seven games for United so far this season and he wants to leave for first-team football.

This season, David De Gea‘s stellar form has made it extremely difficult for him to break into the starting eleven.

The 25 year old is said to be frustrated by his situation at United and many expect him to be sold next summer.

However, the arrival of a new manager could change the situation.

He could prefer Henderson’s towering presence in goal as compared to De Gea.

The Spaniard has never been the best off his line and in certain situations commanding his box.

Some fans believe that he does not represent a modern-day goalkeeper and want Henderson to be given a run of games.

International manager reveals plans for Man United youngster

Manchester United fans have been told Anthony Elanga won’t play from the start for Sweden but will have some role to play.

The young winger has been called up for the senior team for the first time and many were hoping to see if he could have a breakthrough in the same way he did on a club level.

According to Sport Witness, Sweden manager Janne Andersson said: “I do not reason like that. He has said that Sweden applies to him 100%. I trust what he said to me.

“It depends on what role you have in the team. If we’re talking about someone like Anthony, if we were to chase something, we could bring him in. If we defend and counter, then we can use him that way too.

“Will he play from the start? He will not do that, unless anything unforeseen happens, but he can definitely jump in for us.”

Elanga is understood to be elligble for England and Cameroon too so unless Sweden hand him multiple caps, he could still switch sides if he’s not used.

However, as Andersson made clear, he’s been told by the player that his commitments lie with Sweden.

One can assume Elanga’s loyalties would only change if he’s not getting a chance or a look into the Sweden national setup.

However, it looks as though Andersson is keen on using him in certain match situations and will look to ease him into the team.

Elanga’s pace and workrate makes him appealing to use in various match stages so it’s no surprise if he’s brought off the bench.

For instance, when counter-attacking, his workrate will be needed to defend and protect his teammates before using his pace to break quickly and help his team score.

United reignite interest in 24-yo Premier League striker, could be first summer signing

Manchester United have struggled for a steady supply of goals this season and so attentions have turned towards summer and who might be able to bolster the squad’s attacking force when the transfer market opens.

According to Goal, United have set their sights on Brazilian international Richarlison, who is currently embroiled in a relegation battle at Everton.

The outlet claims that United are ‘weighing up a move’ for the 24-year-old.

On paper, Ralf Rangnick’s side have one of the best attacking line-ups in the world with Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba all capable of providing goals. But it hasn’t quite gone to plan for them this season.

It’s United’s fifth consecutive season without silverware and as they try to reset once more, the young forward is a desirable option for the red side of Manchester.

With Cristiano Ronaldo rumoured to be leaving after just one season back at the club and Edinson Cavani also set to depart, United will need to fill the gap up front.

Mason Greenwood remains unavailable and Marcus Rashford is also thought to be rethinking his position at the club.

However, the Reds aren’t the only ones who are interested in Richarlison. Real Madrid made enquiries about him last year and could once again be keen to sign the striker in this transfer window, especially if they fail to land Erling Haaland.

Barcelona have also been linked with the Everton star.

There will likely be a hefty price tag for the forward even if Everton do get relegated, so time will tell if United make a move for the 24 year old.

United made a move for the striker once before, in the 2020 January transfer window, but the deal did not go through.

Coincidentally, Richarlison explained in an interview this week why the transfer did not take place.

‘There were lots of offers during the season, from Barcelona, from Manchester [United],’ he told los Desimpedidos via The Mirror.

‘But the club opted to keep me in the group and I didn’t want to leave in the middle of the season. It’s bad to leave teammates like this.’

As United will be returning in the summer, there should be no reason why the second bite of the cherry should not be a successful one.

United already have the perfect solution to their midfield problems

Manchester United loanee James Garner has impressed again for Nottingham Forest but his performance on Sunday in the FA Cup was perhaps his most impactful of the season despite the result.

As United’s midfield has struggled to perform in the Premier League, the 21-year-old has been putting his case forward for why he should be given a chance back at Old Trafford next term.

Garner’s mature performance against Jurgen Klopp’s side included a sublime pass which led to what could (and perhaps should) have been a penalty which may have turned the tie in the Championship side’s favour.

The academy graduate’s contribution to the game caught the eye of the hardest of taskmasters, Roy Keane, who said after the game (via The Mirror):

‘He is very good technically and he likes to dictate the play.

‘Tough game for him today, but this game is good for those young players to experience playing against these top players like Liverpool, it is a great way to learn.’

The Birkenhead-born man’s ability to shine on a big stage against a big club has led to much discussion about whether he is good enough to make the step up to United’s first team this summer.

The Athletic’s Daniel Taylor claims that Garner himself thinks he can, and wants to be given the chance to prove himself.

‘An overhaul of United’s midfield is needed and, ideally, Garner would like to be part of it,’ Taylor writes.

‘The Athletic understands that is very much his ambition.’

The reporter also considers that there is a chance that the midfielder could realise that ambition.

‘Regular Garner-watchers can see a fine all-round player blossoming but also recognise how difficult it is for any player to break into the side at a club of United’s stature and stay there,’ he notes.

‘For now, however, it is all hypothetical other than to say a player of his age and potential, capped at every level from under-17s to under-21s, is making a similar kind of contribution for Forest that Mason Mount once did for Derby, while on loan from Chelsea.’

'Tone deaf': Man United players and staff brutally attacked by club legend

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has seemingly taken a swipe at the club’s players and staff.

The former defender took issue with how some of the players and staff, including Ralf Rangnick, have taken time off during the international break.

Naturally fans did not respond well to Neville’s Tweet, as can be seen by some of the replies.

Supporters haven’t really complained of how some of the players of staff were using their time off.

After all, it’s pretty normal these days for footballers to jet off on mini-breaks if they’re not selected for their international teams.

Some coaches prefer to use the international break to work with their players while others prefer to give them some much-needed rest.

Clearly Rangnick preferred the latter and perhaps what was a defining factor in his decision was the high number of players who won’t be in training due to international selection.

United’s squad are full of key internationals so perhaps training would be either a little light or just not as intense.

Other fans pointed out that had social media existed during Neville’s playing days then perhaps he would’ve been ‘caught’ doing the ‘wrong’ thing more often.

Of course, it’s not necessarily a good look when players or staff are on mini-holidays after the underperforming season so far but no one is truly bothered by it.

What’s more important to fans is results on the pitch and hopefully Rangnick’s mini-break will deliver that when the team returns.

Sky sources reveal role Rangnick will have at United at end of the season

Ralf Rangnick’s future role at Manchester United is unlikely to be as sporting director, according to a new report.

The German was appointed as interim manager of the club until the end of the season, at which point he will move into a two-year consultancy role.

As the season draws closer to an end, speculation has started to mount in regard to the new position but according to Sky Sports, it is not likely to be one that is close to the team.

Sky ‘s Melissa Reddy reports that while the precise nature of the role has not been defined, it is ‘not envisaged to be very hands-on’.

Reddy also claims that ‘no meetings have taken place as yet with the interim manager regarding the design of his future position, which comes into effect on June 1.

‘United’s hierarchy took the decision to put strategic planning on hold to allow Rangnick full focus on trying to salvage the season through coaching,’ she said.

‘It is understood [that chief executive officer Richard] Arnold is invested in widening the brains trust at the club and is keen to have Rangnick’s “knowledge on tap” until 2024.

‘But his core expertise – structurally overhauling a club and implementing sustainable, successful methodology – has so far gone unused.

‘That is on account of the state of play when he was appointed … as well as a lack of time due to a stacked schedule.

‘The notion Rangnick could operate as a loose version of a sporting director, helping John Murtough and Darren Fletcher knit a solid strategy behind the scenes, has been labelled “hugely unlikely.”

‘Sources have intimated his role in all probability will be centered around sharing insights on innovation, scouting and linking the club with bright football minds rather than fundamentally altering their set-up.’

Reddy’s sources also claim that there have been dressing room leaks during Rangnick’s tenure which have been ‘unsavoury’, but that ‘United have a “pretty good idea where the briefings are coming from”.

Rangnick is said to have not retaliated and has handled the situation with honesty and dignity.

The reporter also claims that the 63-year-old will not be heavily involved in choosing the next permanent manager, which is expected to be either Ajax’s Erik ten Hag or PSG’s Mauricio Pochettino, with Spain’s Luis Enrique and Sevilla’s Julen Lopetegui alternative options.

‘Rangnick has done what has been asked of him, which is to concentrate on coaching,’ the article concludes.

United’s plans in tatters as top manager target wants to stay put - report

Mauricio Pochettino wants to stay at Paris Saint-Germain beyond this season amid interest from Manchester United, according to a new report.

The Argentinian has been heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League and is said to be a top target alongside Erik ten Hag.

Pochettino managed Southampton before making the move to Tottenham Hotspur, where he was sacked a couple of months after taking his side to the Champions League final.

According to Get French Football News, L’Equipe is reporting that the manager wants to stay at PSG in the wake of their Champions League exit vs. Real Madrid.

However, he will only stay if certain conditions are met.

Pochettino’s contract runs out at the end of next season with a move back to the Premier League with Spurs, if Antonio Conte leaves the club, or Man United on the table.

In a pre-match conference before PSG’s run-in with Monaco, the Argentine turned away a question on his future.

Instead, he insisted that his sole focus was finishing the current season with the club set to make a decision at the end of the season.

Another question was then asked about his future and this was where he hinted that he wanted to stay at the club if he was given more of a say over transfers.

“With the club, we have to find the best way to work together. That means understanding we need to align our ideas, our project, our methods,” he said.

“There are lots of questions which need to be looked at so that a staff like us and a club like PSG have similar ideas and visions”.

PSG sit in first place in Ligue 1 this season with a 12 point advantage over second-placed Marseille.

Given the fact that his job is reportedly hanging in the balance, with Zinedine Zidane waiting in the wings, Pochettino is showing some front in making demands at this stage.

Sevilla fans go wild over loanee Anthony Martial’s latest performances

Manchester United’s Anthony Martial is facing fierce criticism after Sevilla’s abrupt exit from the Europa League.

The Frenchman joined the Spanish side in January on a six-month loan deal in a bid to earn move game time before the next manager is appointed at his parent club.

So far, he has appeared in eight games, scoring once. Three of his appearances have come in the Europa League.

However, last week after winning the first leg 1-0, his team was knocked out by Premier League side West Ham United.

Martial started from the bench in the opening leg but was given the go-ahead to start in the second, where he failed to make an impact with the Andalusians eventually conceding twice to be knocked out of European competition.

This provoked fierce criticism from the fans, who expected the club to reach the final as they do in most seasons they compete in this competition.

According to Sport Witness, Martial is one of the players fans are criticising after the disastrous performance last week.

The whole team failed to connect with their opposition as they continued to look lost throughout the game, including the United star.

Injuries and lack of form from the other forwards have allowed Martial to jump right in for the Spanish side and start in some league matches.

However, he hasn’t been able to provide the attacking threat he once showed at United and has scored just one goal in all competitions despite playing eight games.

A couple of Spanish outlets have risen issues regarding the 26-year-old while mentioning what he was originally loaned in for.

Diario de Sevilla mentions that ‘much more is expected’ of the Frenchman, noting that he only has ten more league games to participate in before the end of the season.

The article goes on to say that the striker ‘ran out of gas’ after having a good start to the game.

ABC Sevilla says Martial was ‘signed for nights’ like the Europa League second leg but ‘didn’t show up’ for the occasion.

They continue to say that he was ‘erratic, obfuscated in his driving and not looking in front of goal’ throughout the 90 minutes (translated quotes via Sport Witness).

United fans will be hoping that the striker can find a bit of form before his return to the club after a disappointing couple of seasons beforehand.

This big transfer hunt could mean Maguire's United career is over - report

Harry Maguire may still be captain of Manchester United, but his future at the end of the season is increasingly in doubt as the club’s search for a new centre back gathers pace.

Maguire’s form this season has been poor, to say the least, and has been a big factor in the team’s struggles.

Recent reports have linked United with a move for Antonio Rudiger, who could leave Chelsea as a free agent this summer, Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic, Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo and Borussia Dortmund’s Manuel Akanji.

But now, Turkish outlet Fanatik claims that there is another name on United’s shortlist – that of Atalanta’s Merih Demiral.

The 24-year-old has been superb for the Bergamo side this season while on loan from Juventus and has captured the attention of both Madrid sides as well.

‘It is believed that the world giant Real Madrid has been following Merih Demiral for a long time and will make an attempt at the end of the season,’ Fanatik claims.

‘Atletico have [also] started working to add Merih Demiral to their squad… Diego Simeone was especially impressed by the football that Merih showed in the Champions League.

‘Manchester United are also closely interested in the 24-year-old … The Turkey international scored a goal in the away match against United in the Champions League this season.’

United fans will remember the 6ft 3in defender’s impressive performances in both the home and away ties in Champions League Group F.

Demiral has a modest transfer value of €30 million (£25.3m) according to transfermarkt.com.

One complication to any possible transfer is that included in the loan deal to Atalanta is an option to buy of €28 million (£23.6m), which they are expected to take up. This could allow Atalanta to simply buy the player to sell at an immediate profit, which could potentially drive the price up.

Alternatively, if Atalanta do not buy Demiral, with two years left on his Juve contract, the Old Lady may also be forgiven for demanding a premium price for their talented young star.

Signed and sealed: United head of development signs former player

Toby Collyer has taken to Instagram to confirm his signing with Manchester United.

The 18 year old midfielder, joining from Brighton & Hove Albion, has signed a three and a half year deal according to Fabrizio Romano.

Having failed to come to an agreement on new terms with Brighton, the midfielder has spent recent months trialling with a number of clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea.

It was United who would win out in the race though and Collyer has said “delighted to join this great club, can’t wait to get started!”

A key factor in his signing will have been United’s head of first team development, Justin Cochrane, who joined the club last summer.

Cochrane and Collyer know each other well from Cochrane’s time as England’s u16s and u17s manager, where he regularly included the midfielder in his squads.

A defensive midfielder by trade, the England youth international also has experience at centre back.

Collyer was a key member of Brighton’s u18s last season, making 24 appearances for this side and was awarded his u23s debut just a week after his 17th birthday.

After turning down contract renewals at Brighton, Cochrane was on high alert for his former player, inviting him to trials with United in February.

A hard working player, former Brighton academy coach Mark Beard has said “he gets on with his job. He regularly put in displays of 8/10 at the least. He had the best running stats, runs 13 kilometres a game, breaks things up. He is so unassuming, he gets on with his job. You want 11 of these type of players in the team. You know what you’re going to get in training, he works hard, he wants to improve, he’s intelligent. He’s a good all-round kid.”

Expanding on his talents, Beard added he “has a good range of passing, his fitness is superb, he is excellent in a defensive capacity and he reads the game so well.”

Expected to join United’s u23s squad next season, there is great excitement to see how United’s new midfield signing will settle in and how Cochrane will shape his development.

Ornstein tells excited fans exactly when United will announce new manager

Tier one journalist David Ornstein has claimed today that Manchester United will announce who their next manager will be before the end of this month.

Current boss Ralf Rangnick was appointed on an interim basis following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer earlier this season, interspersed by a brief caretaker stint from Michael Carrick.

The temporary nature of the appointment has been said to be causing some difficulties within the club in terms of planning for the future, with transfer dealings and contract renewals stalling until the wishes of the new manager are known.

According to Ornstein, this has led the United board to expedite the appointment and announcement, even though the new boss will not officially take the reins until the season ends.

‘[United] are trying to wrap up their managerial process as soon as possible,’ he told Sky Sports.

‘They want to do it in the coming weeks, ideally by the end of March.

‘That’s why they were speeding up the process. They were meeting candidates, whittling down their shortlist and hoping to get a chosen candidate in place as soon as possible so that next manager can be a key part of the decision-making process around squad building for next season and beyond and also the transfer window, which will be crucial to Manchester United in terms of incomings, outgoings.

‘They’ll have to presumably build a new coaching team as well.

‘That’s why Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag, in no particular order, have emerged as the key candidates, and there may be a couple of others too.’

Ornstein claims that those others include Julien Lopetegui and Luis Enrique, although he added that it would surprise him if the job went to anyone other than Ten Hag or Pochettino.

In terms of which of the two he expects to be successful, Ornstein said ‘it depends who you listen to,’ noting that members of the hierarchy are believed to favour the Dutchman while Sir Alex Ferguson and the players are said to prefer the Argentinian.

The names are much the same as when the journalist last provided an update on the situation but the predicted timetable may come as a shock to many.

If Ornstein is right, United’s announcement will come within the next 11 days and within that context, Ten Hag could be seen as more likely than Pochettino. The latter could be sacked by PSG at the end of the season but this is unlikely to happen sooner.

United would therefore need to pay a hefty fee to PSG to release their incumbent head coach at this stage. Ten Hag, by contrast, would be an inexpensive acquisition.

Spotify is music to Pogba's ears, but will he listen to a 35% pay cut?

FC Barcelona seem to get linked with almost every United player under the sun which, given the Catalans’ precarious financial position, often makes little sense whatsoever.

Recent reports linking Marcus Rashford with a move to the Camp Nou, for example, seem somewhat fanciful.

A player under contract with a market value of £71 million (source: transfermarkt.com) and salary of £200,000 per week (source: spotrac.com) is surely beyond the Blaugrana’s capabilities at the moment.

However, Paul Pogba is another matter, especially following the news that Barça have struck a sponsorship deal with Spotify that will ease the financial burden.

‘Barcelona’s original interest had cooled because they thought they would be unable to meet the personal demands of the former Juventus man,’ The Daily Star claims.

‘However, last week’s mega sponsorship deal with Spotify, worth an estimated £235million over four years, has altered the financial picture at Camp Nou dramatically.

‘And it now means they can enter the race – and come up with a package to tempt Pogba to join the on-going Xavi revolution.

‘Barcelona have made Pogba’s super-agent Mino Raiola aware they will be in for him come June.’

It would appear to be true that Pogba wants to play at a top club and would relish the challenge of La Liga. The Catalans’ mutual interest also seems almost certain to be true. It is also undeniably true that the Spotify deal will ease their financial burden to some extent.

However, there is still the issue of La Liga’s salary capping rules and Pogba’s £250,000 per week salary.

This season, Barça’s once €675 million salary cap was down to €97 million. The capping was the reason the club had to let Lionel Messi go.

La Liga have imposed an overall spending cap on Barça of minus €144 million this season. Spotify’s roughly £60 million per year injection will be a drop in the ocean of the overall £1.16 billion debt.

Even if the spending cap for next season creeps into a positive figure, the club is going to need to sell players before it can buy.

Antoine Griezmann, Philippe Coutinho, Samuel Umtiti, Neto, Clement Lenglet and Sergino Dest are all expected to be offloaded.

The club is busy targetting free agents because of the situation and this is where Pogba comes in. However, his salary is a huge problem.

President Joan Laporta has introduced the club’s own salary cap of €10 million per year for new signings. The 29-year-old’s £250,000 per week works out at €15.4 million at the current rate of exchange.

This difference could be overcome with the payment of variables and bonuses, but Pogba would have to take a 35% cut to his current base salary at United to join Barcelona.

There is a similar issue at Pogba’s other main suitor Juventus, where the salary cap is even lower (currently €171,000 per week (approximately €8.89 per year)).

The Frenchman’s other options are to sign the new deal on offer at United (the value of which is unknown, but is likely to be equal to or more than his current deal) or possibly to sign for Paris Saint Germain, who are rumoured to be interested and who do not have any issues in terms of matching his salary.

United set to replace both goalkeepers this summer in dramatic twist - reports

Goalkeeper is one of the few positions in which struggling Manchester United do not have problems at the moment and yet a number of reports claim the club is busy trying to fix what isn’t broken.

Goalkeeper David de Gea must be one of the favourites to win Manchester United’s player of the year award this season and he has a fantastic Premier League standard backup in Dean Henderson.

And yet with two months still left on this season’s calendar, reports claim that United are in for a new first choice keeper – Sevilla’s Yassine Bounou, and a new backup keeper – either West Brom’s Sam Johnstone or Dundee United’s Benjamin Siegrist.

The replacement of Henderson is easier to explain. The 25 year old expected to be United’s first choice keeper this term after proving more reliable than De Gea in 2020/21. But his absence due to long Covid at the start of the season allowed the Spaniard to reclaim his spot and Henderson has been left warming the bench ever since.

As a result, it is understood that the ambitious Cumbrian asked to leave in January, a request that was denied, but the club may be set to grant him his wish in the summer.

In that light, pursuit of 28-year-old academy graduate Johnstone or 30-year-old Siegrist, as reported by The Sun, makes sense.

However, The Mirror claims that United are pursuing Bounou as a replacement for De Gea.

‘United have been watching Bounou for several months and are understood to have asked to be kept abreast of his situation at his club,’ the outlet reports.

‘Bounou, 29, has two years to run on his deal with Sevilla from the end of this season and it will cost around £25million to trigger the release clause in that contract.

‘Sevilla’s directors are aware of interest in their keeper and they are keen to extend his deal for a further two years. In any new deal, they would insert a release clause of around £63m.’

The article goes on to say that the Red Devils are considering ‘cashing in’ on De Gea with only 18 months left of his contract. However, the club does have the option to trigger an extra year, taking the deal to June 2024.

It is a curious development. If De Gea really is set to leave, then the pursuit of Bounou can only mean that the club does not believe Henderson has what it takes to fill his boots. This would almost certainly mean curtains for the Englishman this summer, no matter what the fate of the Spaniard.

Journalist Mike Verweij, who’s often trusted with Dutch-related news, appears to be leaning to Ten Hag departing Ajax.

His reasoning is tied to Klaas Jan Huntelaar and how the former striker was hired as the new technical director.

If Ten Hag didn’t have much of a say in such a decision then it’s natural to assume he wasn’t involved because the club don’t expect him to stay for long.

Verweij also believes Ten Hag had an agreement in place already that should a good opportunity arrive then he will be allowed to leave.

Ajax have always treated their employees well so it’s no surprise if they don’t look to block any potential departures.

Fans will be delighted to hear that Ten Hag could still be interested in the United job regardless of how chaotic or messy it looks from the outside.

The hope is that the structure can be put in place so he can succeed should he or any manager for that matter come in.

United had €70m bid rejected for this star in January - report

Real Madrid reportedly rejected a €70 million bid from Manchester United for Eduardo Camavinga in the last transfer window.

According to Fichajes, the Red Devils submitted the offer for the midfielder in January when he was struggling for game time, but the La Liga giants refused the offer.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti was adamant that the 19 year old was an integral part of the club’s future.

In a recent press conference ahead of the game against Mallorca he said:

“His position is very clear. For us and for him. Camavinga is the present and also the future of the club.”

“The day that Modric, Casemiro, Kroos are older, we have players like Camavinga, Valverde, Antonio Blanco as a replacement for these legends.”

The Frenchman is one of the brightest prospects across Europe and has attracted interest from a host of clubs.

He started the season slowly but has finally found his feet and is starting to look like the player everyone saw in France.

United are said to be in the market for a midfielder this summer, and Camavinga would have been a great option.

It would now be near impossible to get him out of Madrid, and United will be looking at other options.

AS Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni is a name that has been recently linked to United and who has a similar profile.

However, the Red Devils face stiff competition from Manchester City and Liverpool for the 22 year old midfielder.

United star set for unexpected reunion as shock Serie A move beckons

Jesse Lingard is out of contract at the end of this season and will be a free agent. Rumours have now begun about where he will go next.

Lingard has started just one Premier League game this season and looked to move away from the club in January but talks between United and interested clubs broke down.

Now, sports journalist Nicolo Schira, has linked Lingard with a move to Italy with AC Milan and AS Roma reportedly interested.

He tweeted saying, “Jesse Lingard will leave Manchester United as a free agent in summer. West Ham and Newcastle want to sign him and pushing to try to convince him. He has also been offered to AC Milan and AS Roma.”

Lingard’s most successful season at United was under Jose Mourinho in 2017/18 so a move to Roma, who are managed by the Portuguese, may be a desirable move for the 29 year old.

However, a photo circulating on social media of Lingard posing with ex-United player Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who currently plays for AC Milan has sparked murmurs of a possible move to the club who currently sit top of Serie A.

If he decides to stay in the Premier League, both West Ham and Newcastle are reportedly still interested.

Last season, Lingard spent time on loan with West Ham and excelled at the club but it was reported that United wouldn’t let him go this January due to West Ham being direct rivals of United in the race for fourth place.

He made 16 appearances for the club and scored 9 goals whilst at the London club in 2021.

Newcastle United were keen to sign him in January but the deal fell through on the final day of the transfer window.

Which club Lingard will eventually go to remains unclear but it’s highly unlikely he will be in Manchester next season.

United's 17 year old superstar poached from Liverpool scores stunning brace

Manchester United’s u18s were the club’s only outfit in action this Saturday as they hosted Leeds United in league action.

It was a disastrous start though, as Leeds took an early lead with an incredible goal from Luca Thomas. Crossed in from the left, the Leeds striker controlled the ball up and past Tyler Fredricson to turn and volley into the back of the net, leaving Tom Wooster no chance.

United would equalise in the 10th minute though. Sam Mather dispossessed Leeds at their end and quickly found Joe Hugill, who lifted the ball into the roof of the net from a tight angle on the right.

Shortly after, Dan Gore raked a diagonal ball to find Ethan Ennis on the right of the box, but the winger got too much under the ball and soared it over the bar.

Unfortunately, a muscle pull forced United’s key midfielder Kobbie Mainoo to be subbed off in the 15th minute for Omari Forson.

A curled in free kick found Willy Kambwala at the back post for what looked almost a guaranteed goal, but the Frenchman connected with the ball all wrong and hit it away from goal.

In the 28th minute United took the lead when Forson played a give and go with Gore to get to the byline on the right and cut back for Ennis to smash past the keeper.

United quickly made it a third as Ennis played Mather out the right and the winger’s shot could only parried by the keeper to Forson to tap in.

In the dying seconds of the first half, Leeds’ Thomas looked for his second with a curling effort that pinged off the left post.

United came flying out of the gate in the second half and grabbed another goal within a minute. Marc Jurado played Forson to the byline and the Leeds defender could only block his cross at the back into a dangerous area for Ennis to follow up and slot home from close range.

With the three goal lead, United looked to take the foot off the gas and strolled through the second half.

Mather should have added another late on when Forson squared for him in the box but he sliced his shot and put it wide.

Four goals was enough to secure the victory though and United move up to 10th in the table with as many as six games in hand on those above them.
