Get ready: Ronaldo's perfect preparation for his United debut gets another boost

Cristiano Ronaldo may be able to join up with Manchester United earlier than expected after his record-breaking performance for Portugal against the Republic of Ireland.

United’s new signing spearheaded a 2-1 comeback against the Irish, scoring both goals after having missed a penalty.

The feat left the 36-year-old holding the record for the most international goals scored of all time, eclipsing Iranian Ali Daei by scoring his 110th and 111th for Portugal.

However, in removing his shirt to celebrate the historic goal, Ronaldo received a yellow card that means he is suspended for Portugal’s next match.

And according to A Bola, Portugal head coach Fernando Santos is considering releasing his captain from the squad and allowing him to join up with United a few days sooner than expected.

‘Fernando Santos said, in a press conference, that he will consider the dismissal of Cristiano Ronaldo from the work of the national team,’ the outlet said.

‘Against the Republic of Ireland, the Portuguese striker received his second yellow card in the World Cup qualifying phase and is therefore suspended and unable to participate in the game in Azerbaijan, next Tuesday.

‘Before, Portugal will face Qatar, in a friendly game scheduled for Saturday in Hungary. The coach referred to the wear and tear of travels from Portugal to Hungary and then to Azerbaijan, so CR7 could be spared and allowed to join Manchester United earlier.’

If Santos makes that decision today, it would mean Ronaldo potentially joining up with the Reds five days earlier than had been expected.

The news will come as a great boost to United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who will relish the opportunity to integrate the star into his squad more quickly.

It would also mean that the Madeira-born man will arrive more refreshed, having potentially played two international games less during the break.

This could all put the legendary forward in line for an ideal first start in United’s next game, against Newcastle United at Old Trafford a week on Saturday.

'For me the greatest ever': First-team star gives inspiring response to United signing Ronaldo!

Harry Maguire has had his say on Manchester United signing Cristiano Ronaldo.

The United captain believes that Ronaldo will have a ‘huge impact’ on the club – both on and off the pitch.

In a pre-match press conference before England’s game against Hungary he stated: “For him to sign back for the club, the greatest player to play the game, it is amazing to have him at the club, and I’m sure he’s going to have a big impact on and off the field.

“Obviously, he’s going to improve our team as well with his goalscoring record.”

Ronaldo spent six years at the club between 2003 and 2009, scoring 118 goals in 292 appearances before leaving for Real Madrid.

But after nine years in the Spanish capital and then a three-year stint in Serie A, the 36-year-old has returned to Old Trafford with his eye on making history once again.

Ronaldo is an inspiration to many athletes around the globe and is undoubtedly one of the greatest footballers ever to grace the pitch.

His competitive spirit and sheer will to excel in every aspect of his game will significantly benefit Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

After completing his medical in Lisbon, the 36-year-old is with his national side to play in the World Cup Qualifiers.

Ronaldo is expected to make his United debut against Newcastle on September 11 at Old Trafford.

Former coach gives interesting insight behind the scenes at Man United!

Former Manchester United first-team coach Rene Meulensteen recently opened up about his experiences at the club.

In an interview with United Scripted, the Dutchman spoke about his relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson and the lessons he learned while coaching at United.

He stated: “Among everything I’ve done, though, there’s one great privilege that really stands out in my memory: six years of working closely with Sir Alex Ferguson.

“He brought me to United as a skills development coach, working with the youth players, then managing the Reserves and doing individual sessions with the first team.

“When Carlos Queiroz left in 2007, Mick Phelan became the new assistant manager, and I became the first-team coach. When I look back on that period of my life, only great memories come in my head.

“His approach to playing entertaining, attacking football never left him and – absolutely crucially – he was able to move with the times constantly.

“However fast the game evolved with technology, sports science and the development of the players themselves, he always managed to keep pace with everything.

“There was never a chance United would be left behind.

“It was all about putting a purpose to what we do so that the players understand why they were doing what they were doing.

“You had to challenge those world-class players. It could be anything – a finishing session, a conditioning game, anything – but the job was to challenge them and, within that challenge, give them ownership because that’s what you wanted them to do in matches.

“Sessions were always about purpose and challenge, and they always revolved around quality and intensity.”

Currently, the assistant manager of the Australian national team Meulensteen coached United between 2007-2013.

He was a trusted member of Sir Alex’s inner sanctum, along with Mike Phelan, goalkeeping coach Eric Steele, fitness boss Tony Strudwick, and very few others.

United enjoyed arguably their most successful period in which Meulensteen was involved with the first team- winning the Champions League in 2008 and three successive league titles.

'Match made in heaven': Experts stunned by United's incredible projected Ronaldo effect

Manchester United’s surprise swoop for former golden boy Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the biggest stories of a hectic transfer window.

By rejecting a possible switch to arch-rivals Manchester City, the 36-year-old instead sealed a dream reunion with his ever-devoted United fanbase.

And, while Reds’ fans prepare themselves for their prodigal son’s return to the Old Trafford turf, financial analysts are predicting an equally seismic impact off the pitch.

As covered by The Daily Mail, it is predicted that Ronaldo’s huge social media pull could result in a major upswing in the club’s commercial appeal.

Football finance expert Dr Rob Wilson says: “You have here a match made in heaven…Commercially, Manchester United did big deals 10 to 12 years ago and they are beginning to expire. Of course, they don’t have a training ground sponsor currently…

“What we will see [now] is a training ground partner will be signed up and they will sign a couple of other deals. I think they will accelerate those conversations because of the appeal that Ronaldo brings.”

Such is Ronaldo’s popularity – he has 261 million followers on Instagram alone – that Wilson believes the Red Devils could recoup his £20m transfer fee and £385k p/w wages within 12 months.

“If they lift a trophy there are all the ingredients for another period of domination. The transfer fee, the add on and his wages should be more than covered by some of the commercial activity they will be able to generate over the next 12 months.

“You could see United earning £30m plus this season through additional commercial arrangements.’

Indeed, the Ronaldo effect has already resulted in an immediate financial boost for the Glazers, with the club’s share value rocketing by almost 10% following the news of his impending transfer.

It’s said that the signing might even offset anxiety about football’s waning appeal among younger demographics – a concern that was seen in some quarters as a driving factor behind the aborted European Super League.

“There will be Ronaldo fans out there who start following Manchester United and that gives you leverage to sell more product,” says Dr Wilson.

“The social media channel that lit up the most was Instagram, which is the 16-24 demographic. Everyone is concerned about the 16 to 24s. Speak to any club executive and that is their biggest headache.

“On-demand, streaming services, the way young people consume digital media means they are less likely to watch a full 90 minutes of football. All the clubs want to break into that 16 to 24 market.”

That market is now within reach for a club that boasts one of global sport’s most popular – and marketable – names.

It’s a signing that seems to work for everyone then; from the boardroom to the ecstatic fans marvelling over the unexpected gift of an epilogue to Ronaldo’s Manchester United adventure.

United on target to sign world class striker next summer despite Ronaldo deal

Despite the transfer window closing less than 24 hours ago, Manchester United are already looking ahead to next summer’s window.

Top of their wishlist is Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and despite the unplanned cost of signing Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, sources told ESPN that the club are still pushing ahead with next summer’s recruitment plans.

United face a battle to sign him with derby rivals Manchester City hoping to coax him to Manchester too.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain have also expressed an interest in signing the striker.

A release clause can be triggered at the end of the 21/22 season, that’s reportedly set at €75m.

United came close to signing the Norwegian international from FC Salzburg during the 2019/20 winter transfer window but Haaland opted to go to Dortmund instead.

Haaland played for Solskjaer when he made his senior debut as a teenager for the Norwegian team Molde and so the pair have a good relationship already.

The arrival of Ronaldo could also strengthen the Reds hand, with Haaland’s admiration for United’s new signing well known.

PSG may look for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe as he is expected to go to Madrid as a free agent.

Meanwhile, City’s failed attempts to sign Kane and Ronaldo may leave them wanting to pull out all the stops to secure the 21-year-old.

On top of that, Bayern are looking for a long-term replacement for Lewandowski.

Manchester United will hope they can have as much success with their transfer targets next summer as they did this year.

Blow for Man United as key figure picks up troubling injury

England manager Gareth Southgate has delivered bad news to Manchester United fans in regards to Jadon Sancho‘s fitness.

The sensational winger was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s most expensive purchase this summer and supporters have been keen to see him in action.

United played the long game with Borussia Dortmund to eventually get their hands on Sancho and the hope is they will reap the rewards for a long time.

The young Englishman is a versatile player but many anticipate he’s mostly been signed to play as a creative right-winger.

The Red Devils struggled to break down stubborn defences last season and that’s where Sancho comes in, in regards to his role for his new club.

Hopefully Sancho’s knock is not one that needs much attention and one that he can get over pretty quickly.

There’s no heavy pressure on his shoulders to hit the ground running immediately with Manchester United but it would be helpful if he did.

Many anticipate the need for a period of adjustment and that he’s not just getting used to a new club but also a new league and environment.

He may be English and played in Manchester before but he hasn’t featured in the Premier League and learnt his trade in Germany.

Good form for England may have helped him in his bid to settle with United as any bit of confidence will prove useful.

However, if he starts his career with his new club struggling with injuries or minutes then it may harm him in the long run.

Ronaldo reveals the real deciding factor in sensational return to United

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has finally given his first interview with the club following his recent arrival.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer moved fast to sign the Portuguese wonder, once it became obvious he was available and ready to leave Juventus.

No one truly predicted Ronaldo would seek to depart from Italy and most of it was put down to pure speculation.

After all, Juventus had re-signed Max Allegri, the same man who won them multiple titles.

It made sense if the versatile attacker wanted to stay put and try to get his former side to win the Serie A but instead he will feature regularly at Old Trafford.

According to the club’s official website, Ronaldo said: “Well, as you know, I have a fantastic history with this amazing club. I was there at 18 years old and of course I’m so happy to be back home after 12 years. So I’m really glad and looking forward to start my first game.

“As everybody knows, since I signed for Manchester [United] at 18, Sir Alex Ferguson was the key. I remember when we played against Manchester when I was at Sporting Lisbon.

“For me, Sir Alex Ferguson is like a father in football for me. He helped me a lot, he taught me many things, and in my opinion of course he had a big role because the relationship that we had, we keep in touch all the time, and he’s an unbelievable person.

“I really like him a lot and he was the main key for me to be in the position that I am, that I signed for Manchester United.

“I think it’s the best decision that I have made it. It’s right on point in my opinion.

“I moved from Juve now to Manchester, it’s a new chapter, I’m so happy and glad, and I want to carry on again, to make history, to try to help Manchester achieve great results, to win trophies and number one of them, to win great things.

And on speaking to Solskjaer he said: “Well, we had a chat, but of course I’m going to have time to speak with him face to face, to know what he expects.

“As you know, I played with him for two or three years at Manchester United so I have a good relationship with him but now with a different role, I’m a player and he’s a coach.

“But it doesn’t matter, my relationship with him is great and as I say before, I’m there in Manchester to help the team achieve his results and the coach can count on me for whatever he wants. So I’m available for everything.

“Well, the fans is the key of football. Now, with all the stadiums full of supporters, it’s not the same that we had one year ago, those empty stadiums.

“The fans, they are the key, and I’m so glad. The Manchester United fans, they are special, I know, I remember very well.

“I know they still sing my music which has made me feel even more happy and my commitment is to give everything on the pitch, like I did before, like I do it all the time, and try to do my best, help the team score goals, make assists, win games, and I hope to see them very, very soon.”

The Peoples Person last covered Ronaldo news when reports claimed his arrival may convince Paul Pogba to renew his contract.

The talented Frenchman’s current deal runs out next summer and the Red Devils have been working hard to try and tie him down.

Pogba seems hesitant over signing a new contract and it seems as though he’s biding his time, waiting to see what direction the club will go in this season.

Fans will be salivating over the prospect of seeing the world-class pair play together on the same pitch.

Key Man United star could be persuaded to sign a new deal after recent arrival

Cristiano Ronaldo is back and he is here to stay for at least the next two years after his recent arrival from Juventus and this reportedly could have a positive impact on Paul Pogba’s future.

The Frenchman has a contract that lasts until the end of this season and Manchester United have been trying to see if he will accept a new deal so he doesn’t leave on a free transfer, again.

This wouldn’t be the first time Pogba would leave on a free transfer as the first time he did this was in 2012 when he joined Italian side Juventus.

Pogba clearly wants to win trophies no matter where he is and this could be one of the reasons why he is stalling a new deal.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, since the arrival of Ronaldo, Man United remain confident that the signing alone can convince Pogba to stay for longer and commit his future to the club.

The feeling of the staff at the highest level at the club remains optimistic that the compelling statement of intent in the recent arrival will solely persuade the 28-year-old to stay.

From January, the midfielder can sign a pre-contract deal with any club outside of the Premier League, and with the winter transfer window approaching United will be acting fast to secure the player.

However, no progress has been made from the player in signing a new deal for the Red Devils.

Pogba returned to the club in the 2016-17 season where Manchester United went on to win the Europa League, the League Cup, and the Community Shield marking our last trophy, which was over four years ago now.

Pogba has played a key part in recent seasons scoring 38 goals since his return to the club and it’s clear to see that United play better when he is on the pitch.

However, under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer we have been getting closer and closer to breaking that dry trophy run, reaching the Europa League final last season but failing at the very last hurdle on penalties.

United fans will be slightly worried that the time is ticking down on securing Pogba for a long time, however, they will believe that the progression under Solskjaer will be enough to convince the player.

Key French star at United pledges loyalty to Solskjaer with transfer rejection

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial reportedly had an approach from French club Lyon on deadline day for a possible loan return to his native country.

In the countdown towards the end of the transfer window, as usual, Man United had a very active day in terms of incomings and outgoings.

Cristiano Ronaldo was an unexpected and hugely appreciated arrival whereas Daniel James headed out on a permanent transfer to Leeds United.

The club also had other issues to attend to and it has now been reported that Martial was approached by French club Lyon for a possible loan deal according to French outlet L’Équipe.

Martial has struggled for form over the past season and hasn’t really kicked on since his wonderful hat-trick vs. Sheffield United when he was arguably at his best since joining the club.

Now 25 years of age, the French forward looks like he could be a liability going forward as he hasn’t shown his full potential at United consistently enough and could be falling down the pecking order since Ronaldo’s arrival.

According to the outlet, the Ligue 1 club previously held discussions with former Arsenal man Willian before his move back to his native country Brazil.

After the breakdown in talks, the club moved over to Martial and entered discussions with his entourage for a possible loan deal.

However, the French international didn’t agree with the deal and wanted to stay at Old Trafford for the remainder of the season.

Now the deadline for transfer deals in France and England has passed, Martial will be staying with the club and will have to fight for the starting position he once occupied before he was injured last season.

It is going to be a near-impossible task considering the Red Devils have the in-form Mason Greenwood currently occupying the position and yet to start for the club this season is the experience of Edinson Cavani and the arrival of Ronaldo.

United fans certainly will not be complaining considering the depth in attacking positions is key for a title challenge.

Agent of unhappy star frozen out by Solskjaer gives explosive and angry interview

The agent of Manchester United star Donny Van de Beek has expressed his disappointment with the club for blocking a potential move on deadline day.

There was reported interest from clubs in Italy, Germany and England for both a loan or permanent move for the former Ajax midfielder.

Guido Albers has claimed United failed to co-operate in transfer negotiations for his client and as a result the Dutchman will remain at United.

Talking to Voetbal International Albers said:

“There was a lot of interest from Italy, Germany, England, so that looked good, but you need the co-operation of the club, and it looked like they would, but ultimately they didn’t.

“Disappointed, but also assuring for him, so that he will get his chance, and will get his minutes, but this will become clear in due time.

“He’s been promised that before, but we came to a clear agreement about this with the club, so we have all faith that it will happen now.”

The 24-year-olds lack of gametime at Old Trafford has led to him being dropped from the Netherlands squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

New Oranje gaffer Louis Van Gaal rang Van de Beek and told him he must start playing games to regain his place in the squad.

The former United manager indicated last December that Donny ‘hasn’t made the right choice’ in signing for the Red Devils.

Van de Beek endured a difficult first season in England, appearing 36 times but only 15 of those were starts, contributing one goal and two assists.

So far this season he has failed to feature in any of United’s first three Premier League fixtures, but after the club’s willingness to keep him will be hoping to finally get his chance at Old Trafford.

First look: United unveil photos of Ronaldo in home kit

The first photos of Christiano Ronaldo, back in a red shirt, have been unveiled on the Manchester United website.

The images come after one of the most sensational transfers in history took place last Friday, as Ronaldo made the switch from Juventus back to his old club.

The Portuguese international is set to return to the club that has “always had a special place in my heart.”

His second debut will mark his 293rd appearance for the club.

The images show Ronaldo in the 2021/22 home kit but his squad number is yet to be unveiled.

Manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to welcome the striker and former teammate back to the club, referring to him as the greatest player of all time in a recent press conference.

“To have the desire and the ability to play at the top level for such a long period requires a very special person,” said the manager, in the official announcement we published at 9:30 UK time this morning to confirm Ronaldo’s return.

“I have no doubt that he will continue to impress us all” he added.

Ronaldo commented, “history will be written once again.”

He will be hoping to add to the 118 goals he has already scored for the reds and perhaps add to 30 trophies he has won.

As fans await the announcement of his squad number, the new images bring a sense of anticipation and excitement around his arrival in Manchester after the international break.

'Lets himself down': United legend's harsh verdict on United midfield general

United legend Rio Ferdinand has joined fellow pundit and former teammate Roy Keane in criticising United midfielder Fred.

Ferdinand has urged United to use a better defensive midfielder saying Fred ‘lets himself down’ positionally.

The 28 year old has been involved in all three of United’s opening games this season but supporters have frequently questioned his performance.

Ferdinand said “I think they need someone in there who can see the game better, who’s more controlled, who’s more calculated in their positioning and decision-making from a defensive perspective.”

“You haven’t got to fly everywhere at 100mph, but they’re in a position to stop the ball getting into these danger areas – they’re an obstacle.”

Talking on his youtube channel, Ferdinand went on to say, “He gets off the leash, goes and smells trouble and flies out sometimes. That’s not necessarily the best way to play out that situation.”

“You need someone who can orchestrate – not only with the ball, I’m talking without the ball. He can position himself to stop trouble before it comes.”

However, he also praised him for certain qualities, “His attributes physically, to be able to cover the ground and make tackles, are really good.”

Meanwhile, Keane has been harsher on the United man in recent weeks.

During his punditry in the opening few games he said that Fred had ‘few exceptional qualities’.

The Brazilian signed for the club back in 2018 and has made over 70 appearances, netting 3 goals.

'It's all about winning': Man Utd star's comments gives Solskjaer massive boost for the season!

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is happy at the club amid reports of him moving to Paris Saint-Germain this transfer window.

Norwegian outlet TV2 interviewed the Frenchman before United’s 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Pogba remaining tight-lipped about his future at the club.

He stated: “To be honest, I am very happy, I enjoy myself. The Premier League is back; I play football again after a nice holiday, so it is very, very good.”

“When you get to a final and lose, it is always very painful. Now we are hungry to do better than last season, and we want to win a trophy.

“I’m happy. To be honest, I’m glad I’m feeling good. I’m healthy, have no injuries, and I’m happy, even if I would have preferred to win the last game [against Southampton]. It’s all about winning.”

Pogba has started the season in sublime form, registering five assists in the opening three games.

His link-up with Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood has been a joy to watch.

The World Cup winner spoke about his relationship with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

“To be honest, I have known Ole for a long time, and we have always had a good relationship, and he is good with all the other players as well.”

“He was here as a player, so he knows the club very well. It’s been really good since he came in.” Pogba explained.

“His strength may be that he understands the players because he has been a player himself.”

“He understands the players. He understands when we might need rest, and he knows how to talk to the players. I think that’s his strength.”

Despite countless reports of him leaving the club, Pogba has acted like a model professional and worked hard in training and on the pitch.

He remains one of United’s most important players if they are to mount a challenge for the title.

Romano: United rocked as Spanish giants swoop for brilliant major target

Any dwindling hopes of Manchester United making a late swoop for Eduardo Camavinga have been dashed by news of his transfer to Real Madrid.

Camavinga had entered the final 12 months of his existing Rennes’ deal and had been the centre of multiple, often contradictory, reports about his club future.

The 18-year-old was strongly linked with a move to United over the first few weeks of the window and was seen by many as the ideal long-term solution to United’s troublesome midfield issues.

However, Twitter transfer guru Fabrizio Romano extinguished any slender hopes of a late swoop with the tweet:

‘Eduardo Camavinga to Real Madrid: HERE WE GO! The offer has been accepted tonight by Rennes. €31m plus add-ons. Medical already completed tonight.

Paperworks are signed. Official today. He goes to Real NOW – no loan. Camavinga picks Real over Man Utd and PSG.’

Romano’s latest scoop was later confirmed with Real’s official confirmation of the transfer.

Although it’s not ideal news, it probably won’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s been following the evolving Camavinga story over the summer.

United’s interest was most widely reported in early July, at which stage there appeared to be genuine optimism that a deal could be agreed.

However, the notion that the Reds could pull off a major coup was soon punctured by numerous reports claiming the starlet had his heart set on a move to the Bernabeu.

The wonderkid’s desire to move to Spain seemed to be public knowledge by mid-July, since when links to United have slowly receded.

Despite an eye-catching window that has seen Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo moving to Old Trafford, many onlookers consider the centre of the park to be an equally critical priority.

The news that Camavinga won’t be the player to fill the club’s midfield void will no doubt leave many fans eagerly awaiting updates on other possible targets, as the transfer countdown ticks towards midnight.

Cristiano Ronaldo's heartfelt message leaves Man United fans in tears

Cristiano Ronaldo’s re-signing and return to Manchester United was officially confirmed today by the club, immediately overshadowing rivals Liverpool’s announcement of Jordan Henderson signing a new contract.

The Portuguese phenomenon completed his medical in Lisbon over the weekend, and today, he posted a heartfelt message to United fans on Instagram, where he has over 333 million worldwide followers.

The 36-year-old, 5-time Champions League winner expressed youthful delight at being back at the club where his meteoric rise began, saying:
“I can’t even start to explain my feelings right now, as I see my return to Old Trafford announced worldwide. It’s like a dream come true, after all the times that I went back to play against Man. United, and even as an opponent, to have always felt such love and respect from the supporters in the stands. This is absolutely 100% the stuff that dreams are made of!”

Local rivals Manchester City looked to be in prime position for the signing of Ronaldo last Thursday only for the deal to swing to the Red side of the city dramatically within 24 hours.

The overriding consensus among City fans was that Ronaldo returning to the Premier League would outshine Lionel Messi’s transfer to Ligue 1 and that he would certainly score goals.

Now, however, that will happen with Ronaldo in red.

On Instagram today, Ronaldo went on to underline that the first trophies he won in his career, of which, in total, there are 32, were all with the Red Devils and that there was a ‘special connection’ between him and the club.

Soon after the news broke on Friday that he would snub Man City for United, opposition fans’ praise seemed to quieten while criticism of the move grew louder.

Many began to voice that Ronaldo was too old and that young starlet Mason Greenwood’s progress would be stunted.

However, it is expected that Greenwood, 19, will get plenty of minutes playing from the right, as well as through the middle.

And Ronaldo’s stats are still at the elite level. On Twitter, Statman Dave posted this earlier today:

By returning to Old Trafford, Ronaldo will cement his status as a Manchester United legend, and if he can help the club to its first trophy in four years, further history will, of course, be made.

He finished his message with a promise to United’s global fanbase, saying:
“History has been written in the past and history will be written once again! You have my word!”

The 783-career-goal man, signed off by dedicating the move to his footballing father, Sir Alex Ferguson:
“PS – Sir Alex, this one is for you…”

'A big shame'- Man United fans react to star's confirmed departure

Manchester United fans were thankful to Daniel James and wished him good luck on his new journey as they reacted to the news in regards to his transfer to Leeds United.

The young winger initially almost joined the Yorkshire club but a breakdown in paperwork with Swansea City meant Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could sign him six months later instead.

James was one of the legendary Norwegian’s first few signings and it’s safe to say he enjoyed some level of success having made 74 appearances since around 2019.

Given how the talented Welshman was largely a squad player, it’s a record he could be proud of and one not many players can say they achieved.

There are more talented players or players of higher stature who failed to reach the same heights at United and fans hoped he would enjoy the rest of his career.

The Red Devils will be especially pleased they managed to turn a profit on James, breaking a cycle of poor sales in the recent past.

It was quite telling in the first place how there were multiple clubs who wanted to secure his signature once it was obvious he was available.

Manchester United have strong depth and options on their flanks so James won’t directly be missed but his attitude and work rate will be.

Going nowhere: Man United stars set to stay and provide attacking depth despite interest

Manchester United stars Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, and Anthony Elanga are reportedly not leaving on deadline day.

The last day of the summer transfer window is notoriously difficult and chaotic, with random names suddenly becoming available or unavailable.

United used the day to announce Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival and it looks as though Daniel James‘ departure to Leeds United is inevitable.

No other major transfers are expected but news quickly broke in regards to Cavani potentially leaving to Barcelona.

West Ham have been keen on Lingard all summer long too but the journalists below have confirmed nothing will happen.

According to The Athletic, Lingard will not be going anywhere as he is determined to fight for his place this season.

It’s understood West Ham United have been keen on his signature but were never all too pleased to cough up the £30m required to sign him.

Other clubs wanted Lingard too but he had no desire to leave as he hopes to prove himself once more at Old Trafford.

Anthony Elanga is also believed to not be on his way out to the Championship despite interest for a loan move.

Cavani staying, in particular, will be a major boost for Manchester United if they hope to challenge for all the silverware available this season.

United to make swoop for number one midfield target as club already line up replacement

Manchester United’s summer business may not be done yet as the club are considering a late swoop for Wolves’ Ruben Neves.

After signing the likes of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo in what has been a superb window so far, United still desperately need a midfielder.

The midfield has been the clear weakness in United’s last two Premier League games, with Fred in particular having a rotten start to the season.

Express Sport have reported that United are still in the market for one more signing with a move for Wolves’ midfield general not ruled out.

While a move is not thought to be imminent with the mood at Old Trafford being pessimistic, if this window has taught us anything it’s to expect the unexpected.

With Dan James’ confirmed move to Leeds for a reported £25 million plus add-ons, it is thought United would need another sale if they were to make any more signings.

And this now seems unlikely after West Ham opted for CSKA Moscow’s 23-year-old attacking midfielder Nikola Vlasic instead of following up their interest in Jesse Lingard.

The 24-year-old Neves has been a revelation since signing for Wolves in the summer of 2017 from Porto.

Helping the club win the Championship before establishing themselves as a solid Premier League outfit playing European football.

The Portuguese international has played 179 times and chipped in with 20 goals and 10 assists, forming a firm partnership with fellow Portuguese star Joao Moutinho in the centre of midfield.

Having had a loan bid accepted for Lille’s Renato Sanches, could Wolves already be lining up his replacement if United do make a late surge for his signature?

'Announce treble'- Man United fans react to official Ronaldo announcement

Manchester United fans could not contain their excitement after Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer was made official by the club.

News initially broke on Friday over the move but the transfer wasn’t completed just yet as it was subject to a medical and some paperwork.

Luckily everything went smoothly and United could confidently announce his transfer from Juventus on a two year contract with an option for a third.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted how he will use Ronaldo, insisting he wants the former Real Madrid man in and around the box.

Many expect the world-class talent to be the club’s main and top goalscorer in a season where they’re expected to challenge for the title.

The Peoples Person covered the news yesterday in regards to Ronaldo completing his medical so an official announcement was always going to be quickly made.

Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Mason Greenwood can all play in the striker position but it’s likely they’ll all have to make way, one way or the other.

The latter three’s versatility should come in handy as they can make an impact on the flanks instead, where some fans would argue they’re more comfortable anyways.

It’s only Cavani, a true number nine, whose position is perhaps under threat, though there’s no doubt he’ll get plenty of minutes.
