Manchester United star Edinson Cavani left fans breathless after his talismanic performance vs Southampton in what was a brilliant win.

The experienced Uruguayan scored twice and assisted once in the 3-2 victory despite coming on at half-time and certainly impressed supporters.

United seemed dead and buried after heading in at the break trailing by two goals but they managed to secure the sensational comeback win thanks to Cavani.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opted to bring him onto the field in the hopes it would inspire the team to three points and it proved to be the right call.

Mason Greenwood was the man sacrificed but Cavani got what needed to be done sorted and handed his team a brilliant win.

Cavani’s sensational movement was key in his performance as he seemed to know exactly where the ball was going to end up.

In fact the former PSG man did so well in that regard that he had fans convinced Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial cannot be considered strikers because they don’t do the same.

The two young forwards lack the same ability to sniff where danger is and Cavani gave them a masterclass in regards to that.

It’s safe to say Martial may struggle to win his spot back as the club’s leading striker when he recovers from his illness.
