Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud had been linked with a move to Tottenham this week.
However, according to the ever-reliable David Ornstein of The Athletic, a move across London will not take place, which has, as expected, been quick to reach several Spurs supporters.
Ornstein claims the Blues have failed in their attempts to bring in a replacement for the Frenchman, meaning they will now keep hold of the World Cup winner past the January window.
The news comes as a blow to both clubs who have seemingly been looking to add to their attacking ranks before Friday’s 11pm deadline.
Giroud has only featured in 192 minutes of Premier League action under Frank Lampard this season, but he now looks to be available at Stamford Bridge for the final four months of the season.
The news of Giroud staying with the Blues was quick to reach several Spurs supporters, who decided to react to the update on social media.
