Olé Gunnar Solskjaer’s connections with Red Bull Salzburg’s Erling Braut Haaland extend beyond their former working relationship at Norwegian club Molde and could prove decisive in luring the prodigious striker to Old Trafford.
Despite widespread reports claiming that superagent Mino Raiola is representing Haaland and is pushing for a move away from the Premier League, there is no evidence of any of these facts. The player continues to be represented by the Relatives football agency, his father Alf-Inge Haaland and Tore Pedersen, according to Transfermarkt.com.

Alf-Inge and Solskjaer were teammates for the Norway national side and the former Leeds player is known to be a good friend of Jim Solbakken, Solskjaer’s own agent and close friend. Both Solbakken and Raiola were involved in Erling’s move from Molde to Red Bull Salzburg in the summer, but it seems probable that Solbakken was there to represent the Haaland family while Raiola was acting more as deal broker between the two clubs.
Haaland Senior was spotted talking with Solbakken before Norway’s European Championship qualifying match with Spain in October, with Haaland Junior watching on from the stands. It may have been a case of old friends simply catching up, or it may have been to discuss a possible January transfer to United.
Whatever the case, it would seem that it is the United manager who has the inside track on the young Norwegian’s future, and not the ubiquitous Raiola.
