Maguire reveals whether he regrets Man United move or not

Manchester United star Harry Maguire has reflected on the difficult start to his career at Old Trafford, insisting he’ll prove his worth over time.

The talented Englishman joined from Leicester City last summer, breaking the world record fee for a defender in the process.

High expectations naturally came about and while United have made individual defensive errors, they’ve largely looked far more solid this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s problems have mostly been on the other side of the field as his players have struggled to net consistently.

The Red Devils currently sit in 12th place after an awfully inconsistent start to their campaign.

According to the Mirror, Maguire said: “I think it’s the long term, that’s what the main thing is. In five or six years’ time, judge me then – whether I have been a success at this club or not.

“And I do believe and am really confident that, in five or six years’ time, I’ll be a success and I am sure we’ll have many, many good times here.

“We need to keep improving as a team, not just me as an individual. I feel, if we improve as a team, I’ll be a success too.”

Maguire would be forgiven for thinking what could’ve been had he remained at Leicester given how well the Foxes have done so far.

Brendan Rodgers men look the strongest side to break into the ‘Big 6’ and secure continental football next season.

Manchester United’s season remains uncertain and it could be argued they’re the most likely side to fall short of qualifying for European football out of the ‘Big 6’.

Solskjaer’s task has proven to be incredibly difficult and he’ll need Maguire on top form if things are to turn around, starting with Liverpool after the international break.
