Unai Emery has given more information on when he expects Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney to play in the Premier League (via Arsenal.com).
Arsenal’s performances in the cup competitions have been vastly superior to their Premier League games so far this season.
The match against Standard Liege last week was proof of that with the club’s returning defenders really catching the eye.
Kieran Tierney, Rob Holding, and Hector Bellerin all put in good performances and now, Unai Emery has been asked when we can expect to see those three in the Premier League squad.
“I think Rob Holding can play 90 minutes with a good performance. Now we are also working with David Luiz and Sokratis, but really, I am very happy. He is going to have a chance to play a lot of matches,” Emery said after the 1-0 win.
“Kieran Tierney is closer to us, he played on Thursday and today he was on the bench if we needed him.
“Hector Bellerin needs a little more time, more matches and more training. This international break is going to be important for him. I think he will be closer to starting for us in the next matches in the Premier League.”
It’s going to be great to get Kieran Tierney, Hector Bellerin, and Rob Holding back fully fit. The two full-backs will be huge upgrades on Arsenal’s current squad in the Premier League. Rob Holding will have to work a bit harder to get into the side because the current defensive partnership is improving with each passing match.
