Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted towards Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford starting together up front against Norwich City.
Rashford performed superbly during the 1-1 draw with Liverpool alongside Daniel James down the middle as part of a 3-4-1-2 setup, scoring a crucial goal in the first half.
The Frenchman was then deployed in the same role against Partizan Belgrade, scoring the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.
Speaking about the prospect of playing the pair together on Sunday, Solskjaer said: “That could happen, definitely. I thought Marcus and Dan James caused Liverpool problems, so it depends on who’s fit.
“Mason Greenwood could’ve played against Partizan [Belgrade] as well. We’re looking more dangerous up front with two at the moment.”
Martial was replaced by Rashford in Belgrade, which suggests that Solskjaer was getting the pair to share the load ahead of being unleashed at Carrow Road.
If full-backs can provide proper width and the ball gets through the lines quickly, then Rashford and Martial really could look a whole lot more threatening.
