Unhappy Manchester United fans seem set to be disappointed further after reports emerged over the Glazer family’s happiness with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
Many supporters blame both the owners and Woodward for the club’s failings in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era but it appears neither party are set to leave any time soon.
United have only won one of their first four fixtures of the season which was ironically against their most difficult opponents.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer watched his side defeat Chelsea 4-0 on opening day only to draw to Wolves, lose to Crystal Palace at home and then tie with 10-man Southampton.
Fans felt the squad was in need of further investment this summer and so were let down by the club’s decision makers given the legendary Norwegian was adequately backed.
According to the Mirror, the Glazers are loving Woodward now more than ever before and are happy with his performance after he cut costs this season through player sales as well as Solskjaer’s appointment.
The former Molde man obviously costs less to hire than Jose Mourinho while the Manchester United squad has been significantly trimmed.
Chris Smalling and Alexis Sanchez were sent on loan while Romelu Lukaku and Matteo Darmian were sold.
Antonio Valencia and Ander Herrera departed at the end of their contracts and although Solskjaer signed the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire and Daniel James, United didn’t actually spend much.
