Manchester United star Aaron Wan-Bissaka has revealed Paul Pogba has guided him through the early stages of his career at Old Trafford.
The academy product was said to be in contention for the captaincy but it was eventually and officially handed to Ashley Young.
However, in the absence of the veteran Englishman, it’s actually been David de Gea who’s had the armband in the past three games.
Wan-Bissaka though has clearly warmed up to Pogba who has been passing on advice in order to help him settle in as quickly as possible.
It’s fair to say that’s exactly what the former Crystal Palace man has done as he’s even exceeded fans’ already lofty expectations of him.
According to Manchester Evening News, Wan-Bissaka said: “The older players help me a lot. Paul Pogba has advised me a lot.
“That first game in Perth, he was telling me the same thing everyone has: you’re here for a reason, play your game, play without fear, get up and down – that’s what I put into my head.”
Wan-Bissaka has arguably impressed the most out of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s three signings, which says something given Harry Maguire’s solid defending and Daniel James’ two goals in three games.
Manchester United have missed having a proper defender at right-back for quite some time given how it was always either Young or Antonio Valencia playing there.
Hopefully Wan-Bissaka can continue to develop and become the complete full-back everyone knows he can be at a time the club is still attempting to transition into a new era.
