Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez’s future isn’t as clear as initially believed with conflicting reports emerging on his future.
It’s understood the Chilean attacker is keen on a move away and has asked permission from the club to depart.
United weren’t believed to be actively selling Sanchez, particularly after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s public support, but it seems if the right bid comes in they’ll consider it.
The former Barcelona man has struggled to make a real impact since arriving at Old Trafford with his high wages often the topic of discussion.
The Red Devils are a little short in attack, particularly with Romelu Lukaku’s departure but Solskjaer has backed his youngsters too succeed so far.
According to Sky Sports, Sanchez’s agent is in the UK to discuss terms over a potential loan to Inter Milan while Manchester Evening News claim while the interest is real, his agent isn’t actually present in the country in contrast to other reports.
Either way, it’s quite likely Manchester United will have to pay off some of the versatile player’s wages in order to attract interest and so it’s safe to say he joins the list of executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward’s failed transfers.
Whether he pushed for the move or Jose Mourinho is unknown but it’s safe to say Sanchez was not the success fans hoped he’d be.
