Gallery: French midfielder? Italian defender? Chelsea outcasts who could leave this summer

Chelsea have confirmed that Alvaro Morata has left the club to sign for Spanish giants Atletico Madrid on a permanent deal.

The striker spent the second half of the 2018/19 campaign on loan to Atletico, scoring six goals in 15 La Liga games.

He becomes the first player to leave the club permanently since Frank Lampard’s arrival at Stamford Bridge, but will there be more to come?

Lampard has a huge job on his hands to decide who is in his plans for next season, given the transfer embargo currently imposed upon the club.

It’s fair to say that Chelsea have a bloated squad, from the first-team through to the under-23’s, and it could be a good idea for the club to look to shift a few players on this summer.
