Chelsea have rejected a £20m bid from Crystal Palace for talented youngster Reece James this week.
According to The Mirror, via HITC, Chelsea have turned down Palace’s offer as they look to keep hold of the right-back next season.
The report claims that Chelsea are unwilling to let James leave due to the current transfer ban imposed upon the club for the next two windows.
James spent the 2018/19 season out on loan to Wigan in the Championship and caught the eye with his performances at right-back and in holding midfield.
He was named in the Championship Team of the Season at the end of the campaign and could now be given a chance to impress in the first-team for Chelsea next season.
Palace are looking for a right-back after they sold England under-21 international Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United for a fee in the region of £50m earlier this summer.
