Lucas Torreira has dismissed the rumours linking him with an exit from Arsenal and insisted he is happy at the club (via TalkSport).
It’s been strange reading news of Lucas Torreira’s potential exit from the club after just one year in North London.
The Uruguayan midfielder had a solid first season for the Gunners but was strongly linked with a move to AC Milan, something which the 23-year-old has finally spoken about.
“Nobody from AC Milan has got in touch with me,” Torreira said while away with his national team.
“Today I’m in the Premier [League] and happy to be part of Arsenal. Adapting was not easy, but I only think about the team. I’m happy to be there.”
The BBC’s David Ornstein did state that the player is “not unhappy” at Arsenal but it’s good to hear from the man himself.
Lucas Torreira is a key player for the Gunners and will hopefully remain in North London for many years to come. The Uruguayan midfielder has a lot more to give for the Gunners and will only improve once he is settled in England and a bigger part of the squad.
