Real Madrid and Chelsea are yet to agree on a fee for Eden Hazard, with the Spanish club valuing him at £88m.
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are demanding a figure closer to £130m, whilst Real are only prepared to offer £42m less.
Hazard has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu for the past few seasons. Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is desperate to sign the Blues star after a poor season for Los Blancos.
Negotiations have been complicated by Chelsea’s dispute with FIFA and injuries to key players like Callum Hudson-Odoi, but Hazard will be allowed to leave if Real Madrid can match Chelsea’s price.
Although the Blues are facing a two-window transfer ban the club are under no pressure to sell, but given the service Hazard has provided the London club over the years, Chelsea feel obliged to listen to his demands.
Since joining Stamford Bridge from French club Lille, Hazard has scored 108 goals in 351 appearances, winning the Premier League twice as well as the Europa League, League Cup and FA Cup.
Hazard has been tight-lipped about his future, insisting his attention is fully on the upcoming derby clash against Arsenal in the Europa League next week.
If the Belgian international can win one more trophy with the Blues, it’s highly likely he will be allowed to leave the club this summer.
