Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dismissed concerns over Paul Pogba’s form, insisting he’s more than just numbers.
The Frenchman’s performances have dipped of late after initially impressing during the beginning of the Norwegian’s reign.
Pogba had started to put up the best numbers in terms of goals and assists under Solskjaer and fans were excited by how good he could get.
The midfielder’s form has coincided with United’s worse form under their new manager having suffered three losses in the past four games including two defeats to Wolves.
Supporters have grown increasingly concerned with Paul’s displays but his manager believes there’s nothing to be worried about.
According to The 42, Ole said: “He could easily have had an assist after some great play with Romelu [Lukaku]. That’s just numbers and figures.
“Paul is working as hard as any player in the team – some days it just doesn’t come off.”
It seems as though Solskjaer is downplaying Pogba’s performances with some fans believing the cause for the bad displays is how burnt out he is.
That theory does hold some truth but it begs the question why the former Juventus man has been outstanding for his country in the recent international break.
There are some who believe Paul is simply an inconsistent player which could also be argued in favour for based on the past.
Either way the academy product needs to improve fast and to drag his team forwards with him if he truly wants to be considered amongst the best.
