Manchester United have been handed a transfer boost with PSG setting a £26m price-tag on Thomas Meunier.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to have been chasing a right-back this summer and with many clubs fighting off interest in their stars, it’s good to have a clear path to a signing.
United’s current options are Antonio Valencia, Diogo Dalot, Ashley Young and Matteo Darmian.
The Ecuadorian is widely expected to depart when his contract ends this summer while the Italian has been begging to leave for several windows now.
Dalot needs competition and with Young declining so steeply, Solskjaer needs to invest in better options.
According to Sports Mole, RMC Sport report that with Meunier’s contract entering close to it’s final 12 months, PSG have placed a £26m price-tag on him though the Red Devils will have to fight off the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal for his signature.
Perhaps Ole’s only chance at beating off the competitors is if his side are the ones who end up finishing in the top four.
If Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool complete the four then that should mean Manchester United would have an easy shot at Thomas.
If Solskjaer fails in leading his side to a top four finish then he could still get his man but it would take some real convincing to get the job done.
