Sanchez responds to reports claiming he will leave Man United

Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez has insisted he wants to make fans happy amid reports of him leaving the club in the summer.

The Chilean has struggled to find his best form since moving to Old Trafford halfway through the last season.

Many put down his early woes to his need to adapt to new surroundings but his poor performances a year later has left supporters frustrated.

Sanchez’s latest injury also saw many calling for him to be put out of his misery this summer though reports have been conflicting.

Some sections of the media have claimed he will depart to Juventus, even choosing to take a pay-cut to make it happen while other sections claim he will fight his way out of poor form to remain at United.

According to FourFourTwo, Alexis said: “I want to keep showing my love for football. I know what I can do. I have belief in my ability.

“United are such an important club, not only in England but on a global level, and I would love to help bring a trophy to the supporters.

“Obviously, I want to make the United fans really happy. I want to score goals. I want to bring them joy. I want to win silverware.

“When we lost last year’s FA Cup final to Chelsea, I was not happy. Not happy at all. In fact, I was sad because I just wanted to make our wonderful supporters happy.

“When I was younger, I liked United. I swear. As a small child I liked United, I really liked them and I want to show this and bring the people joy because, obviously, I want to win.”

Given the way Sanchez has been speaking since the moment he arrived until now, it seems unlikely he wants to cut ties with the Red Devils.

The former Arsenal man is arguably the only player to have not improved under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer so far.

Romelu Lukaku was the scapegoat for much of this season but even he has stepped up under the Norwegian’s leadership.

There have been reports that Solskjaer is targeting the right-wing position if he is given the managerial position permanently which could spell the end for Alexis.
