Maurizio Sarri was in defiant spirits after Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Cardiff, despite fans singing about his dismissal.
The Blues won 2-1 away to Neil Warnock’s side on Sunday, needing a last-gasp Ruben Loftus-Cheek strike to earn all three points.
It was another unconvincing performance from Chelsea, however, with supporters still clearly not happy with the job Sarri is doing.
With the score at 1-0 to Cardiff, chants of ‘we want Sarri out’ could be heard, before the late turnaround.
Speaking after the game, Sarri was measured about the situation, admitting he can understand the situation:
They were probably unhappy for the result.
I can understand, I can understand very well. I am getting used to this.
It was a massive win for Chelsea, in terms of the fight for a top-four finish.
Although they are still in sixth place, the victory kept them a point behind Manchester United and the same amount adrift of Tottenham, following their late defeat at Liverpool.
Next up is the visit of Brighton on Wednesday night, with seven Premier League matches remaining this season.
