Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has put Manchester United on alert after reportedly becoming available for a potential move.
The Frenchman was close to a move to Old Trafford in the past few seasons but nothing ever truly materialised.
Eventually the talented attacker announced his decision to remain in Spain and United’s signing of Alexis Sanchez seemed to completely kill off any possibility of a transfer.
However, since then the Chilean has struggled to find his best form and reports continue to grow over his potential departure while Griezmann is said to be keen on a move away from Atletico.
This could work in vice-executive chairman Ed Woodward’s favour as he has been after a mercurial signing for some time now.
According to the Mirror, Sport claim that Antoine has made himself available for offers with the Red Devils’ likely to have to battle Barcelona and Bayern for his popular signature.
The Spanish side are said to be the favourites for the versatile forward but the German champions could prove appealing as well.
It’s likely that Manchester United’s ability to offer high wages will give them an advantage but perhaps only if they qualify for the Champions League next season.
