Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial will be fit for Manchester United’s visit to Leicester City on Sunday.
Martial, who penned a new long-term deal at Old Trafford yesterday, missed Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Burnley due to a minor injury.
Pogba, on the other hand, featured against the Clarets but was seen limping through the mixed zone after the game.
Speaking at a Friday press conference, Solskjaer stressed the pair would be fine to play a part on Sunday.
“We’ve not had a proper session since the game so hopefully both of them can get through that I don’t think there’s anything with Paul,” he said.
“Anthony will do some rehab work I would imagine him to be involved, he seemed happy yesterday.”
Pogba will certainly start against Claude Puel’s side in what promises to be a challenging encounter at the King Power stadium. The midfielder was considered surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho but it seems almost unthinkable for him to anything other than Man United’s talisman.
Solskjaer seems less sure about Martial’s fitness, however, and may leave him on the bench in favour of giving Alexis Sanchez – who has two assists and a goal in four appearances – another chance to show what he can do from the left.
