Mike Dean will no longer be the fourth official for Chelsea’s meeting with Tottenham later this week.
The Mirror reports that Dean was due to be involved in the game at Stamford Bridge, but after the controversy that surrounded his performance during Spurs’ defeat at Burnley, he has been taken off of fourth official duty.
Dean and Pochettino were involved in a heated discussion after the game and there are concerns about his position as part of the team of officials.
The Tottenham boss was angered by Dean’s decision not to give a goal kick to Tottenham, with Burnley scoring from the resulting corner.
Dean’s performance raised a number of questions about the standard of Premier League officials, with Burnley boss Sean Dyche also airing his concerns after some high-profile decisions.
He will now be involved in Manchester City’s meeting with West Ham at the Etihad instead, while Kevin Friend will be at Stamford Bridge.
