Napoli are making contingency plans ahead of the expected departure of Chelsea target Elseid Hysaj, according to Il Mattino, as cited by Calciomercato.
The Blues had lined up a move to sign the Albanian defender in the lead-up to the January transfer window with Maurizio Sarri a known admirer of his talents.
Hysaj worked under the Italian during his time in charge of Napoli and flourished, evidently prompting him to establish an interest in bringing him to Stamford Bridge.
Reports recently claimed that the Serie A giants could opt to cash in on the right-back, whose future at the Stadio San Paolo has come under some scrutiny of late.

Napoli’s recruitment has earned them plenty of plaudits over the past few transfer windows, and it seems they are already identifying Hysaj’s successor.
The Italian media outlet states that Sampdoria man Bartosz Bereszynski has been eyed by the club following his impressive displays for his side throughout the season.
This news could come as a boost to Chelsea, should their interest in signing Hysaj still exist.
Sarri has utilised Cesar Azpilicueta at right-back during his maiden campaign in English football so far, with Davide Zappacosta the backup option. Victor Moses left the club to join Fenerbahce on loan in the January transfer window.
