Juventus’s director of football, Fabio Paratici has explained why the Serie A side has sanctioned the costly transfer for Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey (via Sport Witness).
The deal may not involve any outright transfer sum but that doesn’t mean it won’t be expensive for Juventus to sign Aaron Ramsey.
The BBC’s David Ornstein has claimed that the Ramsey will receive around £400,000 per week from the Serie A side.
Aaron Ramsey today signed pre-contract agreement to join Juventus in summer. 28yo penned 4yr deal after passing 2-part medical late Jan. Wales midfielder leaves Arsenal 30 June after 11yrs. Set to become all-time highest-paid GB player (basic salary), just over £400kpw #Juve #AFC

It’s a lot of money for the Welshman and now, Juventus’s director of football, Fabio Paratici has explained the club’s thinking behind the move.
“We got him, but he’s someone very different to what we have,” Paratici told Gazzetta Dello Sport.
“We don’t have anyone like him in our squad. He’s more technical than some of our midfielders, even if he runs a lot, he’s less ‘nasty’ in defence, less tactical. He’s a final ball man, he has an eye for goal.
“Ramsey is, I think, someone who has yet to find his position because he hasn’t played in a midfield three, which his is role, capable to come in from deep, with quick passing. He can also play a bit further up the pitch, like Perrotta did at Roma, for example.”
It’s an interesting series of quotes from Fabio Paratici. Aaron Ramsey is of course, a talented player and it’s a shame to see him leave but Arsenal just can’t compete financially with a deal like this.
