Chelsea are monitoring Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr, according to a report from Calciomercato.
The Blues face a transfer ban that will render them unable to complete signings for the next two windows, but this does not appear to have deterred them from identifying potential targets.
Chelsea are reportedly tracking Sarr following his exploits in Ligue 1 with Rennes, and Serie A giants AC Milan are also stated to be keen on the player.
The 21-year-old is a valuable asset for his side and has, in recent seasons, emerged as one of the most promising young wingers in world football.
From 25 appearances in the top flight of French football this term, the Senegalese international has scored five goals and contributed with a further four assists.
Sarr has also shone in the Europa League, netting three times and assisting twice, with Rennes preparing to take on Arsenal in the competition’s round of 16 stage.
Chelsea have plenty of wingers at their disposal, but Pedro and Willian are ageing, and Callum Hudson-Odoi and Eden Hazard are players whose respective contracts are continuing to approach their expiration.
The Blues signed Christian Pulisic and loaned him back to Borussia Dortmund in January, but it seems they have their sights set on yet more wide talent, with Sarr linked.
