Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly and Anthony Martial are all injury doubts ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Fulham on Saturday.
Smalling suffered an injury ahead of the 2-2 draw with Southampton, while Jones came away from that game with a knock of his own.
Eric Bailly and Anthony Martial both played against Arsenal on Wednesday; the former stayed on the pitch throughout while the Frenchman came off with what Mourinho described as a “pre-injury”.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Mourinho made it clear that he would have to wait until the last minute to make a decision over their fitness for the meeting with Claudio Ranieri’s Fulham side on Saturday.
“I don’t know,” he said. “Training session, 11 o’clock will give us some answers. Smalling, Jones, Martial, Bailly, of course Lindelof and Alexis we don’t even speak about them, but we need answers.”
“And for sure we are going to play with players not with the maximum of their [fitness] potential, but players who will put themselves available for the team like Smalling did last match, Jones at Southampton, players in difficulty who go one step forward to try and help the team.”
