Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is reportedly ready to take a pay cut to secure a move to Italy in January.
According to Corriere dello Sport, as cited on Calciomercato, Fabregas is willing to lower his wage demands with a move to Milan seeming increasingly likely.
It had previously been suggested that the player’s wages could scupper his chances of joining the San Siro outfit.
The Spaniard is among Chelsea’s top earners, making it more difficult for the player to be offloaded in the coming months.
Head coach Maurizio Sarri has also spoken of his desire to keep Fabregas at the club, but with no new contract in the offing, he could be moved on as early as January.
With Fabregas due to turn 32 next year, Chelsea are unlikely to offer him the sort of deal that he is looking for.
Both Milan and Chelsea have been in talks over several January deals, with the Italian club also interested in signing Andreas Christensen and Gary Cahill.
