Chelsea have been told that they will have to pay £30m to sign Bayern Munich defender Mats Hummels.
According to The BBC, Bayern are demanding £30m for the German international, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea.
Maurizio Sarri is keen to improve his defensive options and is eyeing a January swoop for Hummels.
The transfer window opens on Tuesday, but the report does not claim whether or not Chelsea are willing to match the £30m valuation.
Hummels has made 15 appearances for Bayern Munich in all competitions so far this season, scoring once.
The 30-year-old is close to making his 100th appearance for the club, since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2016.
He made over 300 appearances for Dortmund in nine years at the club, winning two Bundesliga titles.
David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger are Chelsea’s current first-choice centre-back partnership, but Sarri is looking to potentially replace one of them next month.
